Violence didn't need to be inserted to industrialization, it couldn't have worked without it. From the procurement of the necessary material all the way up to the intended use - not just in war with other human beings but in our ongoing war as a species with the very environment in which we live.
Frankly, the more involved we are in the latter the less involved we are with the former, and if we're going to be involved in the former it's best use is against the other, at the margins of our territory - which is a neat trick that human civilization has used since the dawn of time. We export human v human violence to the border, and preoccupy those remaining in the interior with making communal war on nature. In this way, our predisposition to violence is exhausted in the service of useful ends. The alternative to this is internecine conflict and predation playing out in the context of poverty.
Whatever ideological gripes you may have with violence, understand that I don't. What we've been doing, briefly described above, works. Here we are. This isn't a criticism of violence or of the human organization of violence. Personally, I think that it would be absurd not to take stock of violence, so that we can understand how to employ it in even more useful ways going forward. We're going to engage in it even if we don't...hell...especially if we don't. That couldn't possibly be helped by pretending that it doesn't exist where it does, or as it does, simply because we've been taught to think that we wish it didn't.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
