I knew there was a reason why I'm a sucker for cats

My brain is infested with toxoplasmosis! (A disease which basically forces you to love cats! lol)
Crazy cat lady syndrome is also when the concentration reaches saturation levels.
Beccs. I'm looking at you!
Please detox immediately!

My sister has, I think, five cats. There were six and one died earlier this year at the ripe old age of 17. I can't recall if another one moved in after that or not.
She is currently trying to tame at least three stray/feral cats that come to her house regularly for meals. Supposedly a neighbor's daughter has already said that if Sis can tame a certain one, she will take the cat as her own. My bet is Sis adds to her cat collection as she has already named two of the visitors.
Sis recruited her man into building a heated house for the cats who remain outside during the taming process when the midwestern winter moves in...so they can stay warm and their water won't freeze. She took allergy shots for years because she is allergic to cats. That's a crazy cat lady!

I have 10 - 9 of them rescues. Five of them are kittens (about 8 months) and they are just hell on wheels. They're a lot of fun but I would be dead if I was a hemophiliac. Everyday, I prepare myself for the blood-letting.
One thing cats have taught me is how ridiculous the notion is that the question, "Why am I here?" is profound in any way. My cats know exactly why I'm here - to serve them. Very simple.

I used to look after up to 30 cats, Mrs Zebo ran a boarding cattery (not sure if they exist in the US, it's a sort of cat hotel, we look after the beasties while the owners are away)
It paid the bills quite well until the animal wealfare regulations made it impossible. (rules written by someone who had never seen a cat!)

At what point in cat collecting does one achieve the rank of Pussy Galore?

Grey Cat and Orange Cat had covid kittens. Now we're stuck with em. Olivia, Nameless, Billy Lee, Tom Kench, Huginn, Muninn, and Luck.

I know of a few catteries in Melbourne. My last Oriental stayed in one for 3 weeks. A very sour puss by the time we picked him up.
The place was nice, he was just just spoilt rotten.
But I do agree, they are disappearing slowly as they are being regulated to death.

It would not surprise me to learn that cats invented toxoplasmosis in the first place.
