The point is, the black folk weren't hampered by racist policies because they had their own community. No amount of legislation is going to stop someone from breaking into your house and killing you if that's what they wanted to do.

That is ultimately what MLK's protests were trying to accomplish, because it's probably likely to give better results in the long run. And, if nothing else, the (admittedly nowhere near ideal) progress made in the wake of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s may have something to do with why race riots today tend to take the form of black people getting pissed off that one of their own was killed and not white people looking for an excuse to kill black people.

You're talking real dumb right now. Every single immigrant group has their own community that looks after their own interests. The Asians, Jews, Italians, Irish, Hispanic, east European, Caribbean and African all have or have had thier own little enclaves, where they would spend money and share resources within thier own community, yet if decedent's of American slaves talk about doing the same thing, all of the sudden were the same as the white supremacists.... you sound like a damn clown 🤡
