That Gay Thread
RE: That Gay Thread
Just FYI, I don't find everything in the joke thread to be funny.

The Ambiguously Gay Duo was funny, but I think that SNL nixed it because it was no longer PC.

Christian gay couple who claim they were turned down 31 times for a church wedding are overjoyed to finally tie the knot in a United Reformed Church

Shane, who is deputy mayor for Waltham Abbey and a councillor for Epping Forest, said: 'Honestly, I'd all but given up. But when I spoke to [Reverend] Tessa I was literally shouting with joy and jumping round the room. David didn't believe me.

'When we met Tessa she said, 'I can see you love each other, love is love'. It was the most amazing feeling.

'She said, 'Everyone deserves to marry the person they love' - and she's right.

'The day was so special. That church was a light at the end of a tunnel. They are so brave and we will always be so grateful to them.

'It really wasn't easy but it was more than worth it all. We thought it would never happen. It was like [the churches] were all reading a script - 'We'd love to, but no'.'

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What, is she related to the Banana-man disciple Kirk Cameron or something?

Quote:Candace Cameron Bure Called A ‘Bigot’ By Hilarie Burton Morgan After ‘Fuller House’ Star Explains Why She Left Hallmark

Candace Cameron Bure is taking some lumps today after explaining why she left Hallmark for GAC Family. Actress Hilarie Burton Morgan, in particular, had a few choice words for the Fuller House actress, who said in a recent Wall Street Journal article that “I knew the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

“Bigot,” Morgan responded via Twitter. “I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank.”

Morgan also tweeted “now they’re just openly admitting their bigotry. I called this shit out years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. Being LGBTQ isn’t a ‘trend.’ That guy and his network are disgusting. You too Candy. There is nothing untraditional about same sex-couples.”

Behold the dumbest trolling attempt against gay marriage in a Youtube comment section Hehe

Quote:I will support gay marriage the day majority of gays recognize polygamous marriage
How does this person know that gay people don't support polygamous marriage? can point to a study? Also, this is a non sequitur and is as silly as saying you shouldn't support straight marriage if the majority of straight people don't support gay marriage. This doesn't follow. Also, it's a tad arrogant to assume gays are not permitted to have limitations on marriage and that privilege only straight people are permitted to have.

Quote:I can’t be morally objected to support a group that don’t support me!
Yes, you can be. Choosing not to support other people's rights does not make you virtuous if they don't support yours. But again where does this person's impression gays have an issue with polygamous marriages come from? Also as I pointed out Gays are allowed to have opinions on limitations on marriage.

Quote:Why should I compromise on my rights!
What rights are being compromised by supporting other people's rights? But again where is the evidence gays are against polygamous marriages? Also, were gay people compromising their rights when they supported straight marriage despite the reverse not being the case?

Quote:if it doesn’t hurt anyone who cares love is love right let people define marriage for themselves.
Yup only reasonable thing this person says. But that is just my opinion and gay people are allowed to think otherwise without contradiction.

Quote:marriage is just a social convention right then there is no reason to deny polygamous or
none procreational- incest couples to get married
To the first I have no issue with the second it's more complicated as there can be issues with incest that have nothing to do with genetics. There can be serious psychological issues with such relationships.

Overall this is terrible reasoning  Dodgy

Someday openly gay teenage characters will be in movies titled 'Ordinary World' as it should be.  Not quite there yet.

So, I take it they're not counting Turning Red?

Is it because it's a Pixar film or is it because they don't actually say "Gay" or "Bi" (probably so they can have plausible deniability in China)?

Admittedly, it's more ambiguous in Tyler's case, but given how he's acting exactly like the four main girls, who explicitly have crushes on the band, it's safe to assume that he's got one, too. At least Priya was confirmed to be bi.
