To his credit, Trump does understand marketing, and the principle of rebranding. He wants to stay out of jail, and to do that, he's running for President, and in running for President, he wants to win, so as to not look bad by losing a second time.

Question: Does anybody think some folks are hopelessly straight or could it be that they haven't met the right same sex person yet?

Such an individual would be bisexual, but, they would know that they are bisexual by that point.

Or they could "walk on the other side of the street", ie. go fully gay. Or something in between, of course.

I don't believe that people "discover" their sexuality upon meeting the "right" same-sex individual; rather, one's sexual orientation and/or identity is known prior to that.
Is my position at least clear?

A person could be confused about their sexuality. It happens.
Definitely. Probably not typical, though. Most individuals, after completion of puberty, have an understanding of their sexuality; of course, there are exceptions.
