When I was a Pentecostal I used to wonder if God had a day planned for the Rapture that no one predicted because of the 'no man shall know the day or the hour' thing. We were encouraged to take things in the Bible very literally, after all.

again sport those ready to go in the beginning will go in the beginning. the tribulation is for you to see what the bible says is true and gives you time to get yourself ready. the no one knows the hours or time is talking about the return of christ. like i said before alot of really bad things will happen from the three possible points of rapture to his arrival. those left upon his arrival will experience hell on earth. something i do not want to be around when it happens.

unless the bible is right. again in about 3.5 years the world will turn on israel.. this triggers god to start this process of breaking seals and emptying out bowls of wrath/plagues again in the beginning before the plagues start the faithful will be removed so they do not experience god's wrath... God's wrath is meant to provide the people who need 'proof' all the proof they can stand in the way of flesh eating locusts (or something like them with a lion's type of head) the 4 horse men are released which bring war, death famine conquest (meaning nations will fall people driven into slavery) the sixth seal sounds like the super volcano under yellow stone erupting.. millions die those who are left hide in caves and underground shelters. all of this BEFORE the end where Jesus comes back with his army and obliterates the rest. so again lots of time to live in major suck before the end. or get pulled before any of this happens.. or in the mist of this happening or at the end just before christ destroy the harden evil men. or be one of those christ and his army level.  i personally said i'd stay and help but i do not want to be here at the end end.. if you guys haven't figured it out be then/if we still have modern stuff like computers and internet, then there is nothing i can do anyway.

You know what's weird? A big ole locust bit off my right pinky toe about 2 weeks ago.

read the op... the whole point of this thread is to show you the bible has been made right 4 different times with in the last few weeks. the next big happening is the 'messiah to announce himself either as the false prophet or the anti christian, and the other of the two announce himself. according to one of the top rabbis in jerusalem this will happen in this next year. so understand the nature of the discussion this is not a what if but to show you the bible made claims 2000+ years ago and they are playing out. again in my whole time here I never did this as a serious thread.. saw too many unanswered prophecies. we are 4 less with 2 major ones on the horizon.

Unfortunately, science shows us the vastness of the universe, of which we are only a speck.  In existence in its current form for 13.7 Billion years, it will likely continue for unimaginable time (barring a big crunch).

Why not entertain the idea that end-time prophesy is all just a scary bedtime story?

Human beings evolved to live on this planet -- it wasn't created for us.  Sure, we can kill ourselves, but if we do, it seems that bible-believing Christians will be the ones gleefully pushing the button.

There are certain ... self-destructive tendencies among the more literalists of Christians - like a longing for death - that I find to be a travesty about their faith. What's even more tragic is that it isn't quarantined to the fanatics of their particular faith, and its tendrils have far reaches into all human endeavours in our civilization.

Christians cloud it as The Rapture or some other end-time judgement, but the meaning of it is clear as mud. How many proclamations ... sorry, prophecies,  through the millennia have there been made by hucksters and showmen, essentially grifters, when their own Bible says that no one will know the date?

Even I did believe in Biblical prophecy, my plan wouldn't be to sit around and wait to be "swept away" in the midst of all this garbage--just in case my guesses were wrong or off by a few decades, centuries, or so. 
Best to push back against this shit like no one's emerging from the sky to save us.
