Because that's not something people would quickly figure out how to work around.  The word would spread so quickly to not put "defense of home" that it would break the Internet.

That's why you are not in charge.

Razz
You left out the why part of why I'm not in charge.

I'm glad I am staying home.

The judge's ruling makes sense.  Shame on Michigan for having open carry legal almost everywhere.

I can see groups of 'patriots' showing up at poling stations where minorities or Democrats majorities are expected, creating a gauntlet that people will have to pass.  They will probably be smart enough not to wave the guns around, but they know their 'patriotism' will get them a spot on Fox News.

I don't have a problem with open carry being legal.

I also don't have a problem of people driving without a seatbelt.

But neither one seems like a good idea.

I followed a gentleman into a building last week. I saw him holster a revolver when he got out of his car. (Car was directly ahead of mine.) He apparently didn't think the building would have metal detectors. I guess it's a new policy for the VA? He didn't say anything about his second amendment rights with the federal employees lead him away.

Who the fuck needs a gun in a VA hospital.

Some people appear to believe that their rights are a suicide pact.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

"The Constitution is not a suicide pact."

Quote:Then, 14 years later in Kennedy v. Mendoza-Martinez(1963), Justice Goldberg wrote, “[W]hile the Constitution protects against invasions of individual rights, it is not a suicide pact.” The legal question in Kennedy was quite different than in Terminiello, as was Goldberg's use of the phrase.

Ok.. Education time.

Like many things - the anti gun crowd likes using catchy phrases that make things sound really, really bad.

An "armor piercing bullet"is one of these. What is it?

Anything with a steel core.

Why a steel core?

Because lead costs more than steel.

The funny thing - the enviromentalist WANT everything to be steel core. Most shot for shotguns is now steel.

Hunters - and anyone looking for accuracy wants lead core - as it has a higher cross section density - meaning it stays stable over longer distances - and slows down less quickly.
