Ask a historian what he thinks, rest is bullshit. Try again.
I don't have personal access to any historians. Wikipedia, for whatever that's worth, does seem to trace the origins of the idea from Thomas Jefferson, back to John Locke, and back to the Protestant Reformation, with a few minor religious precursors before that.

When "science" reaches bad conclusions, it's not the fault of science. It is the fault of something or someone else. Science itself remains innocent.
Of course, it's innocent it's a methodology, not an idealogy

Not it's not. It's a fact.
Quote:In some cases bad science is fixed. In other cases it may remain.
Science is self-correcting by design. Otherwise, it would be useless
Quote:We know that the conclusions of science change.
The conclusion by design self corrects

Nope science in abroad statement is good because it can self-correct and by design, it must account and rule out human bias and desired conclusions. Otherwise your not doing science your simply confirming bias's the opposite of science.

Selectively? I literally mentioned everything Wikipedia presents on the history of the concept lol:
1. City of God by Augustine and the Investiture Controversy
2. The Protestant Reformation
3. The Enlightenment (John Locke)
4. Thomas Jefferson

I am continuously amazed by how belacquq has never failed to show by opening his mouth again that he is yet an even bigger pompous ignoramus than might have been suggested by the last time when he opened his mouth.
It must be another miracle of Christianity.

When state and religion marry, John, the religious have made others pay for it. That's why they captured it in the first place.
It's the same impulse now. Christians don't give a fuck what god wants, as evidenced by all that christians do. They give a fuck what they can force someone else to do in gods name. That they can fob off their inner sociopath on some all-fairy.

In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Others being primarily composed of religious, if not entirely Christian, individuals.

Yeah, it's almost as if we have to keep you from killing each other in perpetuity. You know there actually aren't alot of people or groups that have to be accommodated in that way, with that history. f christianity were a medication with the side effects that it's known to have, it would have been recalled. If it were a street drug, like..say, meth...there would be a war on it...and the world would be begging for some substitute for treatment.
It's only because of what christianity has done to you that you think bringing up your religion's blindly murderous tendencies amounted to a clever retort and invocation of victimization. The first and most desperate victims of christianity have always been christians.

Then you understand why the separation of church and state has been primarily championed by Christians.
Underlying the problems of Christianity are individuals with the exact issues and tendencies that the religion points out. Human nature does not go away by simply exchanging the group flags that they fly.
