Yea yea yea, keep bragging, and rightfully so, that your government doesn't have it's head as far up it's ass as we do.

Carter tried to get America on the Metric system, but no.

Well, the nine millimeter bullet seems pretty popular there. Baby steps.

You had to go there didn't you? LOL!

FYI John owns firearms, I do not. But both of us agree that the ease of access is a huge problem.

The virus doesn't give a shit about who owns a gun or not. Me personally, I give a shit about my best friend's health.

A local friend of mine is a physical therapist at the same nursing home/long care home my late mother died at in 2017.

Dwayne is his name. He just found out one of the patients he gives therapy to had covid. This scares the shit out of me. But to be somewhat fair, Dwayne has said since the pandemic started his location has had had 10 covid deaths, and that was two months ago when he told me that.

I had Covid, so did both my parents and my brother and we all recovered just fine, so as long as your friend doesn't have any of the respiratory symptoms he should be fine.

That's been my experience as well. Everyone I know who had a mild case of it had no respiratory symptoms. Most of the ones that did had a rough time of it. Hillbilly Atheist should remain vigilant because of that chest congestion. If it gets suddenly worse, seek treatment!

I have an oximeter and have been checking it several times a day, taking my temp at least twice a day and taking my blood pressure at least once, as well as noting any symptoms I'm experiencing. so far I'm doing okay. obviously if more severe symptoms develop or my oxygen levels start dropping I will seek medical care. heck even if things go swimmingly I already have an appointment with my primary doctor to discuss how we can monitor for any complications that could potentially arise. I've read of people with mild cases who later develop heart problems or have other weird side effects.

also thanks to those offering well wishes. Smile

Maybe, but just saw on the news that because of all the ignorant idiots not wearing masks and traveling this year  we could have an estimated 500,000 dead by mid February.

The experts have said that only 1% will die from it. But America has 320million living here, 1% of that is 3 million. That still is a high risk, even for healthy young people.

The 1% estimate refers to the number of people who contract COVID, it’s not a percentage of the total population (people who don’t contract it have a 0% chance of dying from it).

RE: SERIOUS POST, Hillbilly Atheist has COVID.
Update.

John highly suspected he might have gotten the virus days before he got tested and found positive. GOOD NEWS is that this morning he said his headaches are gone, his congestion is going down and he thinks his smell is coming back somewhat. We talked on Skype from 8am  to 12:30pm just now. He is in really good spirits. He thinks he is out of the woods. He still has to stay home for a few more days before he goes back to work.

But I won't lie, knowing how may people have died since this started, and knowing even perfectly healthy and young people have died, I was worried initially. But to his credit, he's been upbeat during it all, although he also was initially worried too.

He even said he thought initially he wasn't going to tell me at first because he knows what a worry wart I am, from having talked with me during my mothers health problems. But I really am happy he is feeling better.
