You're probably confusing an outlets viewership demographics for it's content bias when you ask questions like that. Ironically enough, that a larger number of leftwingers view a thing...in general... tends to boil down to having fewer alternatives than right wingers - who disperse to those other outlets that are available, to them.
That's before we discuss the pressures of corporate media.
In the west, the rise of global right wing extremism hit a manufactured blindside, both personally and institutionally. Our interactions in this thread are a demonstration of that.

Interesting aside for canadians. What are your options for further-to-the-left™ coverage than cbc?

The Toronto Star is the biggest online publication and it tends to lean center-left though it has some Conservatives. The thing about Canadian media is it's not as polarized as the States. There are outliers like the Sun or Rebel News that are hard Right but they're more of an anomaly than standard practice.

Polarization and leaning are amusing. Here in the us, we're deeply polarized between the extremist right and the moderate right.
Do people still read newspapers up there? How bout broadcast. What's your left-most broadcaster?

Though I still read the paper in the morning as I find it relaxing. The CBC dominates broadcast through their are again center-left networks like CTV and we get our own branch of the BBC which is center-left. Really center-left is really as far as you go as most Canadians are center-left and even extreme Right-wing publications are a niche that ironically gets more attention in the states than up here.

Canada doesn't have any hard-left publications (though I used to enjoy reading a communist propaganda paper strewn around on campus. Back then, apparently Albania was a shining light on the hill, to be emulated).
The right-wing wants to shut down the CBC, because they view the news division as left-wing. In reality, they are centrist, but that is enough to upset the far-right. Yes, there are some CBC journalists that literally cried tears of joy on-air when Trudeau got elected - pretty bad form!
The Sun newspaper chain is blue-collar right-wing -- the demographic who would be Trump supporters.
The other main newspaper chains don't lean too far either direction. The Globe and Mail is business-focussed, so tends to be to the right, but only on fiscal issues. It is probably the best paper if you want some meat on the bones.

The Conservatives weren't especially nice to the CBC, but I voted for Harper. I also voted him out. I never understood the hate for the man. He was a smart pragmatist. Only when he started to cave into the right-wing of his party toward the end did he seal his fate.
When its time to kick the Liberals out, I only hope we get a Conservative leader half as reasonable and intelligent as Harper. The current guy isn't that.
And journalists aren't supposed to be so obviously partisan while covering election results.
