I think you're just misreading or misunderstanding what I've written and how these terms are used.
Me: "Your sex might not be determining how you act out gender..."
You: "...you’re claiming that sex determines gender"
No; but unless you think being transgender is a choice. You're still claiming it is biological, irrespective of whether sex chromosomes are involved.

It's a first world problem. Being from post collapse soviet union area, feels like people have enough energy to survive. This kind of topic is regarded as insanity here.

Fair point. Let’s say for the purposes of this thread.
The fact that military services skew massively toward cisgendered males has nothing to do with biological reproduction or the fact that everybody dies. It’s much more a societal inequality than a sexual one.
Boru
Agreed, although biological differences in the sexes may be a determining factor on how/where the individual serves in the military. The same can be applied to some sports (US football comes to mind).

In the deep time past the women had to be near the children to feed them before they could eat "adult" food. The meant the men did the long hunts, sometimes three or four days. The women were responsible for camp security, they had to be ready to deal with an incursion by dire wolves, etc. You can see how things sorted themselves out from that.

Men are the ones who go to war, sacrificing their physical and mental well-being.
Society expects men to go fight in a war. It is seen as normal. What would happen if armies were made by women? People would rise and tell “How dare we send women to die!?”
If you notice it, this is never brought up as a gender issue. Men going to war is seen as normal, never questioned, an established expectation. And it’s been this way for all through history, even now. You do realize that most wars are men sending other men to die?
You also realize that in warzones civilian women tend to suffer far more than men and are faced a whole host of unique problems in that senerio
You also realize the only that women have been trying to get into the army forever and it's been the military that's said No.

When that tank is just about to run over your bleeding, broken ass - the thought might occur to you that the women finagled the better end of the deal....
Tell that to all the civilian women who are raped and murdered in warzones and the women who made to watch their sons and husbands be marched off to the meat grinder.

Gender is a behavior; a demonstration you put out unto the world. And you'll pick the role you want to act out based on the group you belong to (i.e. your sex).
I'm not transgender, but neither do I behave like a stereotypical female. Never have. It's not a matter of playing a role, either; these are deep-seated likes and dislikes that have been with me since before I started elementary school. On the very few occasions that I tried to align myself with "standard" female behaviour, it felt wrong, fake, and extremely unpleasant.

I've seen some discussion about how to contextualize this as the patriarchy hurting men or women. It's men. Surprise, the patriarchy isn't really set up to the benefit of men, just some men. The rest of us are expendable, even if our females aren't. It's obviously never been true that any system could keep women off the battlefield, because the battlefield ends up being where people are. Insomuch as the societal expectations and compulsory service specifics have traditionally exploited men for this labor, that's just that.
I think we could split the baby if we took field in one hand and command in the other. As they exploited males, they simultaneously excluded female strategists for whom none of the traditional (and already tenuous) arguments apply. Chewing up boys and spitting out girls.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Right; human behavior is more complex than can be predicted by a single category. Sex is just one of the most prominent ones (along with age and ethnicity); each of which has a gravity of its own that pulls behaviors towards some standard. I think what is pertinent here is that you are in fact aware of what the "standard" female behavior is, and have either felt pulled or pressured to assimilate to it even if it wasn't the right fit. I would be surprised if you've felt a similar push towards male behavior since you're not transgender. Thoughts?

You're correct; I have no desire to be a man, either. I'm comfortably ensconced right in the middle of the spectrum, not attracted by either extreme, picking and choosing interests on their own merits. (And as far as I can figure out, my primary motivations are artistic rather than sexual anyway -- I can happily spend days working on messy, gritty, interesting projects, and barely glance at attractive people from either gender.)
