Flat earthers? My experience is everyone runs away from it including theists even though Jesus presented it was a flat earth to Matthew. Maybe Jesus was a liar?

Moon landing 69? From my understanding the US satellite failed and the signal had to be redirected from an Australian satellite centre i.e. a conspiracy was impossible.

Anti vaxxers? Should be all kept together so we can reasearch if viruses attack the low IQ population at the same rate as the high IQ population.

Homeopathy? The dose size matches the brain size of the users.

Yes. I don’t recall precisely, but probably a few christians have told me that flat earthers aren’t real christians.
Or perhaps they were referring to the homophobic christians or the christians that burn and kill or mame people.

I remember that one time we were having a conversation on a chemistry forum. I posted everything about flat earth that I had collected from the bible and someone responded with “Wow, you have done your homework”.
In any case, it is our (atheist) job to properly teach the Bible to the people. Get them interested. Get them to read it for themselves.

I had not heard of that.
1. I have heard that the radio communication going on between the space shuttle (is that the proper term?)  and the NASA headquarters were being listened to various scientists across the globe.
2. The car thing that they were driving on the moon left trails. A chinese high resolution probe that orbited the Moon a year or 2 ago showed evidence of the trails.
3. Moon rocks were brought back and shipped to various researchers across the planet.
4. The space shuttle and all supporting equipment are real. Contracts were given to I don’t know how many companies. I know that a detector for the lunar module feat was made in Quebec. When the lunar module landed, the first one to touch was the one made in Quebec.
5. 3 Retro reflectors were installed on the Moon. This is similar to the reflectors on your bike and street signs. They bounce back the photon back to where it came from, making it appear bright. To this day, the retroreflectors are detectable.

Anti vaxxers?
These people are dangerous to the general population since their bodies could act as incubators and eventually, a mutation might occur and  we’ll have a more resistant virus.
I don’t expect for scientists to find easy solutions to every problem. It is better to avoid the problem in the first place and focus on other tasks.

Homeopathy?
It’s fun to talk to them. The primary dissatisfaction that they raise is that they are treated as a customer when they visit a doctor. In the USA, unfortunately, hospitals are a business. That the doctor tries to sell them pills and he gets a commission. They try to sell penis cutting which is the most popular unnecessary surgery. Some call it circumcision.

You can’t treat everything in life as a business.
It’s too bad that drug development is expensive. I think the governments should give financial aid to Pharmaceutical Companies and that such companies should be taken off the stock exchange.
All these companies should be fused into 1 and they should share knowledge because knowledge equals power.

Besides, homeopathy is also a business and simply doesn't work or works through the placebo effect.

So, I have a video on youtube, it was about the belief in a flat Earth.
I got into a discussion with someone.
He says (possibly a theist):
“Tbh, most of the conspiracy theorists I know are atheists. Maybe I'm just lucky.”

About me (Ferrocyanide):
I strongly doubt that.
I am someone who scrapes the internet. What that means is that for something like +10 y, I interact with various people all across the web.
My experience with flat earthers and other conspiracy theories is that they are nearly 100% theists (christian (good english skills, with a small dose of muslim with bad english skills).

MY QUESTION
What has your experience been with respect to flat earthers?
How about NASA + moon landing of 1969?
What about anti-vaxxers?
What about homeopathy vs medicine/biochemistry?

As A Christian I do not know one flat earth Christian, one moon landing denier, anti vaxxers are limited to Jehovah witnesses and technically they do not believe Jesus is the one and only son of God, so can't be christian. (I don't think chrona virus vaxs should count as they are not truly a vax as they are not even FDA regulated vaxs) nor have i ever seen homeopathy being up held as the way to go ever. not to say it can't happen in the church. it's simply not popular in the church. I guess the old adage is true.. If you don't believe in Something/God you will fall for anything

Of course the FDA regulate the vaccines for coronavirus. Here is the heading from the COVID-19 section of the FDA website:

Quote:The FDA has regulatory processes in place to facilitate the development of COVID-19 vaccines that meet the FDA's rigorous scientific standards.

You do realize that the phrase "The Church" refers to the Catholic Church, right?

And the saying "if you don't believe in something, you will fall for anything" doesn't include the word god.

Just make shit up as you go though...you do you.  We all know you are full of shit.

==What is your explanation for “I do not know one flat earth Christian”?
My explanation is that you aren’t poking around the web or maybe you’ve seen them but you decided to push them under your rug.
^^^^^Please DON’T do that. Don’t lie to yourself. Accept the data as is.

Here are a few sources.

“Religion might be the reason 2% of Americans believe the Earth is flat.”

“Of that flat Earth group, 52% identify as “very religious” and the tone of the flat Earth discussion on YouTube seems to back the “very religious” poll.”

“YouTuber Dave Murphy, stated, “The Bible has a very, very clear view of what this place, is, and it matches that place more than it matches this. Everything we see, the trillions of galaxies, it shows how mighty and how amazing god is. But were we praising satan’s lie? Were we looking at a lie and attaching god to it?””

Flat-Earthers even go against renowned scientists like Neil deGrasse Tyson, including YouTuber Rob Skiba, who stated, “Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, all these other guys, Michio Kaku, say these are spinning galaxies with billions and billions of stars, all with planets going around them, are coming to Earth. Someone’s lying. I don’t know about you, but I’m not prepared to say that it’s Isaiah, Yeshua, Pater, or John.”

This one is a conversation I had with a mormon who converted to christianity. His name is Free-Pete.

Free-Pete:
My family are 5 generations in Mormonism, I was baptised at 8 and it is from then I count my membership. JS killed 2 and injured one all on the staircase then went to the window knowing he could not hold them off on the stairs and began to recite the masonic distress code "Oh lord is there no rest for the widow’s son...." and it was then he was shot and fell to the street below, His brother Hyrum who was shot in the cell were also Masons and Universalists. His brother's blood stain can still be seen on the wooden cell floor to this day, well some say it was his brother’s blood. Navoo had over 8,000 masonic members who were in the church, where go you think JS got the idea of introducing temples? Masons are famous for them, and read this, in their temples they use the Anton Lavey's satanic bible. In there is a god of the living dead MORMO, who's followers are called Mormons. JS and his family knew all about that!

Free-Pete:
Still have contact with all my family, JS was an utter wolf. Emma was well rid, she ended up with a nice Guy and never had anything to do with the church. B Young hated her,. J Smith youngest son ended up in a mental institution, poor guy, other freemason church leaders/founders include Charles T Russell of the JW's another crackpot, who was buried under pyrimid.

Free-Pete:
If you want links facts figures, you can trust SandraTanner utlm.org, she is honest. Her site shows both sides. Remember the kingdom of God is at hand, so there is no need to wait till death, he's bringing in his sheep now, he is the saviour, and he can only be a saviour if he has saved, he is not a saviour in waiting,  today he is my saviour and he will always be my saviour. The truth does set you free.

Free-Pete:
I NEVER use main stream media, and science is a religion in it's self. They preach a moving globe earth yet the bible clearly says otherwise.

^^^^^NOTICE THIS LINE. It is pretty common for such people to be christian, they don’t trust the government and scientists and main stream media.
Free-Pete noticed the none sense that mormonism is and unfortunately he jumped into christianity (or as I called it, judaism version 2.0). He read the Bible and noticed the flat earthism present in its pages.
If he rejects flat earth and accepts science, this becomes equal to rejecting Jesus and Jesus won’t save his soul.

“It’s globalism,” his wife Julie interjects. The term, a favorite of President Donald Trump, has become an anti-Semitic euphemism, attached to a far-right conspiracy about Jews controlling the world. I make what must be a funny face, because Julie tries to clarify.

“Globalism,” she repeats, and draws a circle with her hands to illustrate.

Ah. Globe. Yes.

For true believers, it’s more than just a conspiracy theory. It’s whole world view, a level plane onto which hucksters, trolls, and Christian fundamentalists can insert their own ideologies.

On the first day of the conference, I ask Flat Earthers when they converted. When did they chuck out the globe, renounce outer space as fake, and decide we live on a flat plane covered by a dome?

The answer, for most, is three years ago. That’s when some of the movement’s biggest names launched YouTube channels with hours-long videos explaining not so much why the Earth is flat (it isn’t) but why elements of the “globe model” are suspicious, particularly when they clash with a literal reading of the Bible.

So why do it? Who benefits from the void of facts?

I ask a number of Flat Earthers about their politics. Many are politically disengaged (“your vote doesn’t count,” three people tell me), but loosely conservative. Most are Christian. Some, if you inquire long enough, say they’ll have to completely rebuild society after everyone realizes the world is flat.

This crowd isn’t necessarily far right. But the openness to extremes and a tendency toward conservative Christianity means far-right language leaks into conversation throughout the conference.

“Jehovah witnesses and technically they do not believe Jesus is the one and only son of God, so can't be christian”

==Yes they do. It is in their Bible.

“I don't think chrona virus vaxs should count as they are not truly a vax as they are not even FDA regulated vaxs”

==Someone else corrected you on that.

“nor have i ever seen homeopathy being up held as the way to go ever”

==I don’t know about the religious background of homeopathy believers. I didn’t ask, but I should have.

“If you don't believe in Something/God you will fall for anything “

==If you believe in a god and you believe that your church leaders are the mouth piece on Earth or that you believe some other human, a dead human from the distant past, such as Jesus, is a prophet or a superhuman or a son of god, then you are effectively willing to believe in anything that particular church says.
Basically what you have done is open a book called the Bible and you read it and they told you that it is fact. You then believed that it is all true. You never verified any of it for yourself. I have never verified any of it for myself either.

Except that...
The fact is that the Earth/universe is not 6000 y old. We don’t come from the family of Noah. There was never a global flood. A good chunk of the Bible is none sense.
So, science blows away the abrahamic religions and has done so for a very long time.

Flat earth nonsense is mundane compared to the things drich believes. He might not know any biblical flat earthers because he's too crazy for flat earthers to associate with.
