Indeed, dimetrodon was much more closely related to mammals than to dinosaurs.

Indeed, dimetrodon was much more closely related to mammals than to dinosaurs.

We could solve all this by creating a new supertaxon called ‘prehistoric monsters’ - every animal kids wish was a dinosaur could be included.

When I was a young, dinosaur-obsessed boy, I was always partial to the Iguanodon. Seemingly gentle, but with giant, thumb-like spikes and not afraid to use them to defend himself.

Also, it was the first dinosaur to ever be discovered.

You’ve been watching too much Jurassic park.

In any case Liopleuodon was not a dinosaur.
You tell her that.

Remember the "models" they built from those first skeletons? Looked like hippo built by Frankenstein.

I spent pretty much the entirety of 2nd grade making big puffy dino models out of pipe cleaners and paper mache.  They didn't have any of the programs I was in  - so - basically just housed me in a classroom until all of that could be arranged.  Beautiful old one room spanish school house on brick streets with shell avenues, you could see boca ciega bay and paradise island from the jungle gym...and if you could get up on the roof, treasure island too.   The roof...was where all the mini dimetrodons lived. 140 fuckin degrees.

The flocks of parakeets could drown out the sun like clouds and they were so loud that you couldn't hear anything over them. It was very, very easy to play like an explorer in the land of the lost.

It's one of my earliest memories.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
