teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I wonder where these guys in the photo met each other. I'll assume it was at their boys club. They call it the church or that other word, mosque. Did they sit down at the church and discuss murder? I would say yes.
I also notice that at the right side of the photo, there appears to be a ~10 y old.
At the center of the photo, there is another ~10 y old kid.

Religionism sounds like a neologism. If I heard it on the street, I wouldn't intuitively draw a parallel between it and agism or ableism. I'd stick to better recognized terms.

But IS there a recognized term for discrimination against religion? ‘Religion discrimination’ is kind of clumsy, and (as has been pointed out) ‘xenophobia’ is just too broad.

And what’s wrong with neologisms, anyway? If we start using ‘religionism’ in the context mentioned, it might catch on and stop being a neologism.

Let's put it this way, is atheism the irrational prejudice against atheists? I think the term has more potential for confusion as it's not at all clear whether it's pro or con.

Maybe that's just unfamiliarity, I don't know.

Fair point. But there are also plenty of 'isms' that indicate prejudice - racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, and so on. But no one thinks 'racism' means anything other than a person who discriminates on the basis of race.

I would just say anti-religious bigotry. Google says religiophobia is a term some use - A fear or hatred of religion, religious faith, religious people or religious organisations.

‘Phobia’ doesn’t necessarily indicate discrimination, though.

Homophobia.

I don't like religiophobia either. It bunches together hate of religion and hate of the religious like the term Islamaphobia does, and that way, Islamic apologists can basically call us bigots for having issues with the religion of Islam. That's why I stick to calling it anti-Muslim bigotry.
