Christ was the messiah for many of the jews and none jews of the 1st century church.. and in the book of revelation ( along with the teaching of Christ) a false messiah or anti-christ has come to set the world on fire and piss of God to the point where he says enough is a enough and calls for the end of the age of man/end of the world.

Religios people make claims? NO FUCKING WAY!

"I'm Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room, our top story tonight, SO THE FUCK WHAT?"

here's the thing.. the jewish leadership would not consider christ for this role. nor have they ever considered a messiah before christ nor never once considered anyone in the 2000 years after christ... what makes this different is the book of revelation makes the prediction they would identify someone (the anti christ) as being the messiah. the book also predicts this man will do a series of things that before now was not possible after 77AD. because before now/this last generation there was no nation of Israel, there was no temple to defile there was no alter to desiccate (i spoke about all of this in the last thread we did back in sept..) Again yes the are making a claim but again what is extraordinary is this claim could not have been full fill at any point in the last 2000+ years without contradicting what was written in the book of revelation. History is aligning with the book.

Quote:The historical Jesus counted on the world's coming to an end in his own lifetime. And for this coming of God’s kingdom he doubtless did not want to found a special community distinct from Israel, with its own creed, its own cult, its own constitution, its own offices. All this means that in his own lifetime Jesus never founded any church. He had no idea of founding and organizing a large-scale religious operation that would have to be created. Neither for himself nor for his disciples did he think of a mission among the pagan nations.

You Christians should really decide already what you believe original Jesus believed.

this is not true. jesus himself no one knew the date or time of the second coming. Not even he knew. only God the Father. the guy you are quoting doesn't know seem to have a 1st grade understanding of the bible.

The only thing you showed here is that Bible contradicts itself. He certainly considered that part as a later interpolation. Like I said, you should agree already, but that is impossible because Bible contradicts itself.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

This isn't right.

Jews use the word "messiah" differently than Christians. For them, it is almost always a political leader who unites the Jews, strengthens their homeland, and gives them peace. The Christians changed it, to something more magical.

Several people have been called "messiah" over the centuries. The Old Testament calls Cyrus the Great a messiah, because he ended the Exile and allowed the Jews to return to their homeland.

Different groups of Jews have named people messiah, when not all Jews agreed on the name. I remember an orthodox community in Brooklyn who named their leader messiah about 20 or 30 years ago. Most Jews ignored it. You could probably find dozens of similar examples from history.

[bits irrelevant to this reply have been snipped]

Jesus may not have known the day or the hour, but he certainly had a pretty good idea of the general time frame.

Matthew 16:28: ‘Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom’ (the verse immediately preceding describes what that would look like).

Jesus clearly expected - and told his audience to expect - his return in fairly short order, not more than a generation. He got it wrong. Since this is a failed prophecy, we can count Jesus as a false prophet. Maybe the new guy can do better.

Thanks for the heads up Drich. I like following this stuff because I find it really interesting.

I told my mother and she's pretty darn excited. She fancies herself a prophet, and says God told her in 2016 that "The two horns are risen". She also claims to have heard the voice of God when she was pregnant with me, who told her he had a special purpose for her, and my mother also said she saw Jesus as well in a vision. For the past few years, she was leaning toward the false prophet and the beast being Pope Francis and Donald Trump. Now she thinks the guy you're talking about could be one of them. I remember hearing a year or two ago that in Israel they were making a crown for the Messiah who was soon to come.

Whenever I feel the need for an acid flashback I can just read one of Drich's posts. They ramble around, make no damn sense, and I get nothing of value out of them.

Scary to think someone this delusional is walking around without a keeper.
