Still pinching myself over Kamala being VP.

RE: Still pinching myself over Kamala being VP.
Long before this thread, having my mother introduce me to college football. While the local games are annoying with coporate ads sewn into the 3 point feild goil points, the regural season games and college playoffs are still somewhat unspoiled.

But in the college playoff games nationwide. Every fucking college bowl game is named after a giant coproration. What happened to "sponsored by"?

I really fucking hate watching any pro sport, that the corporate logo is not only mentioned every nanosecond by the announcers, but it is tattood on the tennis court, golf course, baseball feild, soccer field, football feild. Is the "sport" really the love of the game? Or is it about a bunch of rich white assholes making money?

Get over it, you putz.

Yea, sure they do, and that is the point.

It gets fucking annoying when those ads are not on the sidelines or scoreboards but on the actual field of play.

Just today, for the first time I can remember in MLB history, I saw corporate ads painted on baseball green. WHAT THE FUCK? I've watched pro sport highlights not even being an MLB fan for centuries. Why the fuck do the Yankees or Cubs or Red Socks or any MLB team need to tramp stamp the actual feild of play in the green with a corporate tatoo. They already get the tangential billboards in the stands, and the corporate mentions in the radio/tv ads.  Please fucking tell me when the game matters?

I wouldn't watch your son's sporting event, or college or pro, if all I was constantly looking at for 2 hours was an ad for  corporation.

If your son was playing a sport outside corporate greed, I most certainly would watch, for the game. But increasiningly even with the sports I don't that  like Corporate greed is fucking pissing me off.
The sponsors kept the lights on.  Helped to pay for keeping up the grounds.  Paid for additional bleachers.  Helped pay for uniforms and equipment.

Schools normally don't have a shit ton of cash laying around for the frills.

Does your ADD come with a side of OCD?

Regular. Holy crap. I deserve the death penlletweee dunt eye?

Pay me to spell plurfecltly and I wil clare. Other than that, maybe U need to stop being so stupidly pedantank.

In all seriousness, your pointing out my spelling errors are not wrong. But it does get tedious to keep exlplaining to you that I don't have a staff and I am not getting paid a dime to make my posts.

I guess I can't expect some people to look at the message first.

You watch television with commercials. You watch movies with product placement. You visit websites with ads. You read (or have read) print newspapers and magazines with ads.

Why should sport be any different?

What you have is the same thing we all have.  Words spelled incorrectly are underlined in red.  You are lazy.  Fucking lazy and it makes you sound even more ignorant.

The only buzz kill that I just noticed, is just like most pro and college sports, I looked in the background behind her and a gigantic corporate ad dwarfed her.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. SERIOUSLY CORPORATE AMERICA, IS THERE NOT ANY EVENT YOU WONT LEAVE ALONE?

Hey Allstate. FUCK YOU, you don't own the Navy!

I just fast forwarded through a few videos of the event and I didn't see the All State logo much. They mostly zoomed in on the speaker below the sign so the All State logo was out of the view of the camera.

Personally, I don't really mind the ads in sports, but I can respect and understand why others wouldn't like them because there are a million of them. When I found out NBA uniforms were going to have ads on them, I was entirely against the idea, but the ads are just a small patch on the jersey, and I got used to it in the first year and I'm cool with the ads. I'm sure they will include even more ads on the jerseys in due time though. The NBA tried to make sleeved jerseys a thing, and people thought the sleeves were going to be used for ad space, and players like Lebron ended up revolting against the sleeved jerseys, so now we only see the classic sleeveless jerseys used. There are a ton of ads on the court too, but I don't focus on them and they don't really bother me. I'm happy for the players because more ads equals more money for them on contracts. As long as the NBA doesn't turn into soccer where you just have a huge company logo on the jersey and that's about it, I don't think the ads are going to bother me too much.
