I once heard a preacher at a dinner I attended who said that while the Constitution has a " no religious test" clause in it for public office - that doesn' t apply to churches. He then went on to "explain" how a church could have it' s cake and eat it too - maintain the 501c3 status and actively collect funding for and endorse political candidates......

They’re concerned, FM, because you create a wedge issue to ride it into power continuously. Not solve it, and rob yourself of that reliable path.
Think of it like this. When they get their theocracy…and they are…how are they going to explain why domestic terrorists keep shooting up schools? They’ll need an all new pitch….and if they were creative types who could come up with a new pitch they wouldn’t be pounding a dusty old book in the first place.
