Sounds like another unstable kid with access to dad's. Hope they also take a long look at the parents.

More guns leads to more gun violence.

Lets try some simply maths.

In scenario a) there are 200000000 privately owned guns in the US, in scenario b) there is 1 privately owned gun in the US. In which of those two scenarios do you think the level of gun violence is likely to be higher? Do take your time...oh and if it helps, the gun in scenario b) belongs to a mass murdering psychopath, the answer remains the same...

In second of course as there would be no "good guy with gun" to stop "bad guy with gun". Dodgy

Right, there are no good guys we read about stopping bad guys. Why? Because those "good guys with guns" are just as scared. They don't carry guns to stop the odd mass-shooting or the occasional armed-robbery of their favorite liquor store.

They carry a gun because it makes them feel better, even though they're afraid to use it.

Yes I am very familiar with that argument, that's why I made the maths as simple as I could for him. If he addresses this at all I'd be stunned, if he understands the argument I'd also be pretty surprised, given his recent grasp of a simple statement.

There are also some pretty gruesome stats on the massively increased likelihood of a gun death from suicide, accidental shootings, and even worse of children, in homes where a hand gun is owned.

The obvious response to that argument though, is to ask them why criminals in countries with strict gun laws aren't shooting unarmed good guys in any significant numbers, let alone coming anywhere near the mass shootings and murders in the US.

That's an easy ask. It's because very few countries have raised gun fetishism to the levels seen in the US. We view gun ownership as a privilege, not a right.

There's definitely a cultural anomaly, alongside a ridiculous prevalence of private gun ownership.

The Onion on its failed bid for Infowars. Epic.

https://theonion.com/a-message-of-hope-f...trahedron/

"A bankruptcy court has denied the sale of InfoWars following a month of drawn-out legal proceedings. The experience was long and punishing for all involved, and the final outcome is inconclusive: The InfoWars assets remain in limbo. Everything is now in doubt and everyone is worse off than before.

In short, it is the kind of world we at Global Tetrahedron have always envisioned. One in which wealth begets wealth, power begets power, and the process itself inflicts daily suffering on innocent parties for no reason.

On a personal level, witnessing this saga has been nothing short of inspiring. To see such naked contempt for truth and humanity—to have front-row seats as a parade of mercenary goons disfigure the English language with blunt-force bravado—is a dream come true for the 10-year-old boy in me who grew up idolizing greats like George Wallace and Idi Amin."

I would say that it is for the best as I doubt that majority of gun owners would be as accurate as Simo Hayha.
