I have lived in several different states over the years and going to the DMV for anything is right up there with having to have a root canal done - without anesthesia. But now they want to see every document you have to renew so they can prove it's really you. I have gathered my birth certificate, my DD214, my marriage license, and will offer my first born in order to keep a license. I will be 68 in June...I have not suddenly become an undocumented immigrant and I have to prove that. Hell, one side of my family has been in the states since the 1650s. Perhaps I should bring my other grandfather's immigration papers...I have them.
