Cecropia Moth (Hyalophora cecropia)

During my caterpillar farming days I would rear 100-150 of these beauties annually. My best specimens had wingspans of 6½" or better.

We get tons of those in the backwoods

The Beaver- Because it's the national symbol of Canada and it's freaking amazing .....And Cute.

The Capybara- Because it's such a chill animal.

The Humming Birds- Because it can fly backward and it's cute.

The Praying Mantis- Because it looks like an Alien. 

The Leatherback Sea Turtle- It's so sleek.

African Wild Dog- A True Apex Predator with an 85% successful kill rate.

Back when I was a kid, I think I was 6 or 7. Anyway I spotted a Preying Mantis on a bush in front of my house. It looked so peaceful, and having handled other insects that simply crawled across your hands, I ignorantly thought it would do the same. I tried to pick it up. BUT damn if it didn't bite me and dig it's leg spikes into me. They look like they are slow, but no, they are ninjas. I dropped it like a hot potato, never fucked with one since.
