Talibans turned Afghanistan people to poverty and slavery.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Funny your example is a western government investigating its own troop's misbehavior abroad. Do you think the Taliban will ever write a similar report for 20 years of human rights abuses and war crimes ?.... Yeah, I thought not  Dodgy

At Atlass33,

The Taliban  were not oppressed, and Bin Laden wasn't either. Bin Laden and the 19 hijackers were all from Saudi Arabia. I really don't know what you would expect from America. Do we get everything right? No, and no nation has. But sorry, it is a simple fact of evolution, you sucker punch anyone, and most are going to respond. Bin Laden didn't attack America because he actually cared about Islam. He wanted to start a fight between America and the east, BECAUSE HIS OWN FAMILY said no to him, when he wanted to be funded to fight against the Russians when they invaded Afghanistan. BIN LADEN WAS SIMPLY JUST ANOTHER RICH SPOILD ASSHOLE TRYING TO MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF.

People pick on my poetry, they tell me it sucks every day. Unlike Hitler, I wasn't denied entry into an art school. Monsters like Hitler and Stalin and Bin Laden don't care who the fuck they hurt. If you say to me, "Brian, your poetry sucks", I am not going to go on a killing spree, much less have a desire to become a dictator.

The day of, the night of, and days after, when I spoke to my wife, and my mother, and my family. There were looks on their faces and loss of color in their faces and a tone of voice I had not heard at that level of fearful uncertainty. But that was my generation. I cant imagine for a second, what the allies saw en mass when the death camps, one after the other were liberated, and the world saw what Hitler had done.

Even outside our human species, I really have never been fond of watching big alpha male male animals, like bull elephants, or elk or rams fight each other. But other species have an excuse. Humans to me really don't other than the fact we cannot understand we are all the same species.

All of us have a limited time breathing. All the speculation about post life and magical super heros that everyone claims is on their side pisses me off because I'd rather worry about now, not rivalries, not competition, not whom can beat up the other. But just have some days where I can enjoy my friends, my cat, a sporting event, without worrying about whom wants to kill me.

At least he admits women are oppressed by his religion.

So pointing to India's poor treatment of women somehow absolves the Taliban for its long and well-recorded history of violence and oppression of that particular group .... Yeah that's totally logical. Dodgy

To be honest with you Brian; I'm not a big fan of Bin Laden either; my argument against this person is the same argument I always have: look at his own personal LEGACY and the legacy of his ideas. They mutated into "ISIS"; they proved to be "intercepted by the CIA in every step and move" to the degree of his thought becoming the background and root of ISIS.

ISIS itself is the same project of Bin Laden; orchestrated by the CIA to clear the ranks of the "Mujahideen" from any resistance.
The Taliban didn't win until he was gone.

That's why I always believed and thought that this man's real target is to take out the Taliban and any "real authentic freedom fighting that might be sourced and based on Islam".

Where is his body? where is his legacy? where is his remains? why can't I find images for him dead like Che Guevara or Saddam Hussain?

Noone. That's what Bin Laden is, the secret CIA spy that demolished any true plan for victory by the Taliban.
Their government and opposing voices are free to convince me otherwise.

Oh, and the US Congress and the UN have listened. Tell me can when will we have a similar event under a Taliban government will we see government reports on their plight. No we won't because it would be hypocrisy on their part  Dodgy

(bold mine)

That's completely wrong. Bin Laden used a significant chunk of the family fortune to support the Mujahideen. And he specifically attacked the US because he was incensed that US bases were being allowed on Saudi Arabian soil.

Your contention that bin Laden didn't actually care about Islam is stupid beyond words, as is your claim that he was 'trying to make a name for himself'. He had made a name for himself long, long before the 9-11 attacks.
