RE: Daily conspiracy
Santa may be real after all.

Quote:Results Released in Girl’s Request for DNA Evidence of Santa

The Rhode Island Department of Health says it was not able “to definitively confirm or refute the presence of Santa” in a young girl’s home after she requested to have a partially eaten cookie and a couple of gnawed-on carrot sticks tested for DNA to see if Santa Claus is real.

The department tweeted on Monday that “we all agree that something magical may be at play.”

The department said it found no complete matches to anyone in the Combined DNA Index System but said there was a partial match “to a 1947 case centered around 34th Street in New York City,” referring to the movie “Miracle on 34th Street.” It said it would need more DNA samples “from other known Santa encounters to make a definitive match.”

The “good news” is that the lab did find the presence of DNA closely matching Rangifer tarandus, known as reindeer, when testing the carrots, the department said.

So who is covering up his existence by lying to kids that Santa does not exist? It's probably libs to push their pro-abortion agenda.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

UAP enthusiasts are claiming to be stigmatized and yet the organization that is allegedly investigating UFOs scientifically has its name associated with the History channel's Ancient Aliens.

America’s Biggest New Age Expo Welcomes Conspiracy Theories Back In

The Conscious Life Expo is the largest New Age health and wellness expo in the United States, and one of the longest-running. It’s usually a genial, chaotic circus. For three days every February, the halls of a Los Angeles Hilton burst with psychics, UFO experts, self-proclaimed lightworkers, and healers of all stripes, plus table after table of crystals, pyramids, oils, potions, and dubious cure-alls.

Sean Stone, son of director Oliver Stone, is giving a talk about “the Great Awakening,” a term usually used in QAnon circles. New Age filmmaker Frank Jacob will speak about how the Large Hadron Collider at CERN is “being used to open portals to other dimensions in a timeline war.” Laura Eisenhower, the great-grandaughter of Dwight Eisenhower, will discuss how attendees can “de-weaponize the dark technologies that have been implemented upon us.” And Mikki Willis, the filmmaker behind the viral faux-documentary Plandemic, is premiering what appears to be a full version of the film, with a panel of unnamed experts of some sort to follow.

“The Great Awakening will reveal how the COVID industrial complex was used to advance a century old agenda to weaken and overtake America,” the program description of Willis’ talk reads.

All of this promises to be either enthralling or mind-numbing, depending on your point of view. But it also represents a new era for Conscious Life: After years of denying that conspiracy theories are a major facet of the expo and a big draw for its thousands of attendees, its organizers are much more openly making a place for them.

I guess bullshit sticks together.  I don't care if people believe in Chakra of healing crystals, but to lump themselves in with conspiracy-theory nuts is going to really hurt their brand.

That was the mistaken belief that the organizers were operating under before, despite knowing that there's alot of demographic overlap.

Quote:By engaging with the thought of Jacques Rancière, in conversation with studies on contemporary Paganism and Western esotericism, I consider the adoption of conspiracy theories as an expression of dissensus by a community of sense that does not look only for visibility but, rather, wants to be fully acknowledged, recognized, and legitimized in their “participatory”—or “magical”—way of inhabiting the world.

Wait - so these people don't even want reality or truth?  They see anyone who choose to disregard reality as kindred sprits?

I thought the whole point of spirituality or religion is that you actually believe it, not "I know its false, but I'd rather live like it is true - and others who feel the same on any other topic are just like me"

Quote:What appears to be central, then, in the approach of my Pagan interlocutors to conspiracies is not the descriptive “objectivity” of facts but the “magical” power of the stories (see Magliocco 2012; Greenwood 2009) that conspiracy-narratives, with their repetitive and formulaic structures, enact and the effects they have on their lives. This is what “participatory knowledge”—one in which the contingent protagonists of individual conspiracies have only a secondary role—is capable of triggering. Such a reading can help explain why some moderate Pagans could adopt extreme conspiracy theories while oblivious to their practical and political consequences, to the reliability of the sources quoted, and to the formulaic rhetoric. My Pagan interlocutors do not “believe in” conspiracies, in fact, their adoption of conspiracies should be considered as a form of conspiracy-believing, one that is contextual and positional and that is adopted since it enhances “participation.” In doing so, it allows for the political emergence of a community of sense.
Keep in mind, his definition of a moderate pagan is an italian person who would go to an ashram, cheifly and uniformly concerned with social justice and environmentalism - but were not active protestors. The question he was trying to answer was how so many of the people he studied..like that....came to swallow far right us conspiracies like qanon.

His answer was that the two seemingly different demographics were at least linked, kindred spirits as you'd say, by their emphasis on participatory knowledge. They don't necessarily believe in the contents of the conspiracy, but what it can do, up to and including community building and just generally effecting change in the world. No matter how nutty the contents might be, the latter expectation is credible. For better and for worse, conspiracies and conspiracy theories are all around us and have always been effective agents.

Scientific American is giving Leslie Kean space to pollute their UFO article with "crash retrieval" whistleblower fantasies without asking her to provide any proof to back it up.

Quote:According to Leslie Kean, a veteran investigative reporter who has spent decades covering UFOs and UAPs, the most important near-term progress on the topic is likely to come out of Capitol Hill rather than any science lab or smartphone app. The next year and a half should be a heady time for UAP revelations, she says, thanks to the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2023. Among other things, that act includes arrangements for a better, more secure process for “whistleblowers” to come forward.

This process has already begun, Kean says, with some whistleblowers having met with congressional staff and/or members of AARO. “Those who have signed secrecy agreements related to UAP are now free to reveal that previously protected information to AARO and to Congress, without fear of retribution or prosecution,” Kean explains.

Congressional committees could then make an effort to verify the information provided by the whistleblowers, some of which may concern the recovery of materials from crashed UFOs and involve legacy investigative programs going back decades, Kean foresees. “Of course, we don’t know how much of the information provided will be made public,” she adds. “Some of it may have national security implications and will have to be withheld.” But ideally, the new process will both bring more valuable UAP data to light and help validate earlier reports from reputable eyewitnesses who already came forward.
