It’s a bold play for the defense, demanding the suppression of evidence, the insistence that the fbi is responsible, and the declaration that no jury will give them a fair trial. Might actually work for some of them, particularly those who were charged with providing material support but not implicated in the kidnapping plot itself.

As many as 200 Americans have now reported possible symptoms of 'Havana Syndrome,' officials say

Officials with direct knowledge said there are now possible cases on every continent except Antarctica. In the past year, officials said, more than one American in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan has experienced symptoms, including a baby.

Almost half of the possible cases involve CIA officers or their relatives, two officials said, while about 60 involve Defense Department employees or relatives, and around 50 were linked to the State Department.

U.S. officials have said they do not know what explains the mysterious neurological symptoms first experienced by U.S. diplomats in Cuba, and in public they avoid using the word "attack" in favor of "anomalous health incidents."

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine said in a report last year that some of the observed brain injuries were consistent with the effects of directed microwave energy, which the report said Russia has long studied.

U.S. officials have said privately that they suspect that Russia may be using a microwave energy device either to secretly gather digital data or to intentionally injure U.S. officials in a campaign of harassment, which Russia denies.

A team of medical and scientific experts who studied the symptoms of as many as 40 State Department and other government employees concluded that nothing like them had previously been documented in medical literature, according to the National Academies of Sciences report. Many reported hearing a loud sound and feeling pressure in their heads, and then they experienced dizziness, unsteady gait and visual disturbances. Many suffered long-standing debilitating effects.

I only know what the news reports, but it seems like this is legitimately causing concern among the diplomatic corps.

Harvard astronomer, Avi Loeb, who is pushing and cashing in on 'Oumuamua is a spaceship' claims, is forming a multi-institutional team of scientists to investigate evidence of “defunct or still-active ‘extraterrestrial technological civilizations,’” and is calling it, what else, the Galileo Project

Harvard-led team to search cosmos for extraterrestrial space tech and UFOs

The project will analyze data from astronomical surveys and telescope observations, and design new algorithms using artificial intelligence (AI), in order to identify potential interstellar travelers, alien-built satellites and unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), according to the statement. 

"Science should not reject potential extraterrestrial explanations because of social stigma or cultural preferences that are not conducive to the scientific method of unbiased, empirical inquiry," Loeb said in the statement. "We now must 'dare to look through new telescopes,' both literally and figuratively."

'Oumuamua was our solar system's first interstellar visitor (that we know of, at least), but that doesn't mean it'll be the last, and one of the Galileo Project's research branches will focus on developing strategies for finding and tracking such objects, from space and from ground-based telescopes. Other project research areas will include searching for small ETC satellites that may be observing Earth, and analysis of UAP sightings.

Sounds like someone smells funding.  If he can profit off the UFO craze, he will.

Searching for life in the universe isn't crazy.  Looking at every unknown object and assuming aliens (or gods) is pretty crazy.

Yeah, it sounds like Project Galileo will have the same credibility as Ancient Aliens.

Also, Avi Loeb just announced the launch of his Galileo Project on YouTube where he says that the initial goal is to hunt UFOs on Earth and that he has raised $1,5 million so far.

This is very interesting: two guys back in 2009 decided to make a prank/ social experiment. They released in the night sky several glowing helium balloons and immediately people got very excited thinking it's aliens. TV stations started to cover it on TV as UFOs, "UFO experts" from MUFON started to claim how these lights in a dark sky can not be of Earth origin/ man-made, and when the perpetrators admit it is all a hoax people don't believe them and claim that they are CIA agents who are lying to cover up the actual alien visitation.
