Quote:Bishop: Jubilee Year gives new hope for healing from abortion

“As we prayerfully continue the essential work of restoring full legal protection of all preborn children and supporting parents facing difficult pregnancies, we also recognize our need for asking forgiveness and healing from the Lord for when we have given in to the culture of death,” said Bishop Thomas in a statement released by the USCCB Jan. 13.

The Catholic Church teaches that “human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception,” and that abortion “willed as either an end or means is gravely contrary to the moral law.”

Bishop Thomas said those who have been involved in abortion — which “inflicts deep and lasting wounds on society” and “more directly on individuals and families” — should recall that “no sin is beyond” the Lord’s “unfathomable mercy.”

It's interesting that while the Catholic Church has an automatic excommunication for anybody who participates in an abortion in any way they have no such protections against pedophilia.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

At the Texas Capitol, Christian worshippers are blessing the walls of a hearing room to protect lawmakers from spiritual forces and the “Jezebel” spirit.

“Pray for the fear of the Lord to come into this place,” says MercyCulture pastor Landon Schott.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Russian Church Says HIMARS Strikes Are 'Punishment for Abortion' And the War is Punishment for Masturbation

The archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) said that High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) strikes on Russia by Ukraine are God's punishment for abortions, according to the Moscow Times.

During a sermon, Archpriest Andrei Tkachev spoke about the harm abortion does to the Russian gene pool and how Moscow's population did not have the right to "demand happiness" or peace because of it.

He said: "Abortions have destroyed our gene pool, turned us into debauchees and murderers... It is precisely because of the murder of innocents that God punishes," and he went on to say that abortions take "an order of magnitude more" people than war does, and that "it is because of depravity that wars occur. And we will have no peace until we repent," and later discussed the punishment of women who have abortions.

The archpriest also said the reason President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2022 was because of moral decline due to widespread masturbation in Russia, as he said that "If semen spills anywhere, then future blood spills along with the semen."

While I do believe pedophilia (specifically the act of engaging in it with a minor) should be grounds for excommunication, abortion involves the intentional killing of a young human - and while trying to compare "how evil is something?" is a dumb as hell game, I think most people can at least agree that murder is only bellow torture and then murder in regards to "evil."

Compare states that give the death penalty for murder vs the states that give the death penalty for rape if you want to see a secular example of this at work - though to be fair, Protestants are leading the way in states like Kentucky and Florida in getting the death penalty expanded to pedophiles and rapists.

Nah Abortion is simply a woman exercise her bodily autonomy while  pedophilia is the victimization of children by adults and is clearly more evil to any sane person and the death penalty in general is unhinged

Abortion is a no questions asked free trip with no judgement to heaven. Why are you against that?
