Not illegal, just inadvisable.

Religious leaders told 'prepare now' for UFO disclosure to unleash Bible-changing revelations
Influential pastors are claiming that they have been told to prepare their followers for shocking revelations about UFOs which may upend belief in the Bible. Perry Stone, a well-known evangelist, author and Bible teacher from Tennessee, warned that fellow pastors were recently invited to a secret meeting with US intelligence officials to prepare for the release of secret files on extraterrestrials. According to Stone, the officials warned a small group of pastors with a large reach in the Christian community that the government was about to release reports and possibly videos of aliens and spacecraft which were not from this planet. In the April 27 video posted to his YouTube channel, the evangelist claimed that pastors were told about the existence of 'reptilian' creatures, UFOs and materials from a non-human origin and 'other things that almost sound like something out of a sci-fi movie.' However, officials in this secret meeting allegedly said the information on its way may cause some Christians to question how the universe was created and even lose faith in religion.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
Awesome. I can't wait until this hits.

I bet they weren't close at all.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
Well, at least he won't have problems with vows of celibacy.

Pastor leads wild dedication ceremony for Trump’s giant gold statue at his own golf course
At Wednesday’s dedication ceremony, the 22‑foot colossus, depicting the president thrusting his fist into the air, was draped in white and blue fabric, resembling a Greek toga. It was encircled by a few dozen guests seated in chairs, as Pastor Mark Burns — a member of Pastors for Trump — spoke at a podium. “Today at Trump National Doral Miami, we witnessed an unforgettable moment,” Burns wrote on social media before emphasizing that the gilded effigy was not a false idol. “Let me be clear: this is not a golden calf,” he said. “This statue is a celebration of life. It is a symbol of resilience, freedom, patriotism, strength, and the will power to keep fighting for the future of America.” Burns, who previously described the president as divinely appointed, added that the sculpture stands as a reminder that God is protecting Trump’s life — in a nod to the multiple assassination attempts he has survived. Sculptor Alan Cottrill told The Times in February that he agreed to create the bronze figure for $300,000 but complained that the investors were slow in paying. In November he proposed coating it in gold leaf. His suggestion went down like an offering of water “to a person dying of thirst,” he said. “Immediately everybody jumped on board.” https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world...72303.html

I love shit like this. This is the kind of thing that drives young people away from religion in droves because it's such an obvious con. This is Jim Baker-level stuff. Pastors like this do our own work for us in a way we could never do.

Quote:Stone also claimed government officials warned these religious leaders that non-Christians might panic and turn to churches for answers. Oh, yeah, THAT'S gonna happen. (vdws) I see a much more likely scenario of a vast spectrum of non-Christians - atheists, Buddhists, wiccans, etc - turning to those 'pastors, ministers and teachers with a smug, 'Told ya so, but you wouldn't listen.'
