Just folded up, dropped to the ground and twitched a few times.
Meat already in the fridge.
Got 2 tags left.
Like I say to the dogs, giving them kibble, FOOD 'UMS! I will say that venison is a bit better than kibble. What they don't know won't hurt them.

When it rains it pours...
I hadn' t seen a deer for 9 days - and I got the six point... Today I had deer doing the olympics... 100 yard dashes - high jumps.... The whole deal....
Singled out a nice yearling doe at 130.yards...
Perfect placement shot. Took off the top of the heart and destroyed both lungs - and it ran 150 yards...
Go figure....
Some are just too dumb to know they' re dead...

I recall that my 10th grade health/driver's ed (hah! remember that?) teacher talking about hunting deer, and shooting one through the aorta instead of a direct hit in the heart, in class. I guess he thought that that that was a health class lesson? The girls were grossed out, but I think his point was that still he killed it cleanly, as it bled out quickly.

But if someone is going to eat meat, it seems like hunting is the only way respectable to the animal, unlike industrial farming and meat factories.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The way I work - it' s the quickest most pain free death a whitetail can get.
.Zero to dead in under 60 seconds - and frequently less.
Last one was maybe 10 seconds.

Sure, and the fact that Disney made a cartoon about hunting from a deer's point of view is a testament that hunting is not that bad. I mean there is a reason why they will never make a Disney cartoon about industrial farming from an animal's point of view.

Thought I was done...
One of the neighbors hasn't gotten a deer yet - so I went and got another doe tag. If I get one I will give it to him. We'll see if I can get 6 to his zero......
