Just imagine all those sincere cross purpose prayers. I mean, both coaches are praying to win at sportsball, aren't they? Both sets of moms at home, hoping their children get noticed by a scout so that they can escape the crushing poverty of their peers. Peers who are also praying, but so are those scouts, praying that those same conditions produce a payday in the form of another person.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, none of them will get answered, ofc, because prayer doesn't work - but that's neither here nor there. If prayer did work, it'd be a huge mess. Even the people who believe in prayers know this, thus they imagine a sprawling bureaucracy of officiating supernatural agents.

Meditation isn't messy. Neither is prayer.

OFC...because it doesn't work, at all. I'm just having fun with the idea as though it did. Is there something unclear about this? Peoples interests are in competition and contradiction to each other. If prayer worked, there would probably be a whole industry based on paying for people to pray that someone else's prayers failed. Arguably, there already is, and you might be familiar with it, being an ex catholic.

GN is hitting on all cylinders now. OFC prayer doesn't work for all of those reasons and more. And don't forget about god's plan. All those people praying for things; at least some of them must contradict god's precious plan. So what happens with that? Prayer is incalculably messy and convoluted. In rational terms, it is impossible because of these complications.
Meditation is quite different from prayer. It is self actualization, it is not begging an imaginary deity for treats. And Ahri, stop imagining you know anything about what prayer does or what prayers are answered. You can pretend but you must be aware that you know absolutely nothing. To not be aware of this is delusion. (October 10, 2021 at 9:49 am)Ahriman Wrote: Yeah that's just way too convoluted. But that's exactly what you represent. All I did was explain YOUR position. You guys are wrong on so many levels, but I can't change your mind. You know nothing about what you're talking about in this thread.

The problem is you can't articulate how anyone here is "wrong", nor do you have the patience and stomach to try and debate. So you can believe anything you want and you clearly do in your delusional world. The only real question is why you keep trying to hoist your bullshit on anyone here. Since Ahriman has no stomach for real discussion or debate, I'm going to list a few items that are clearly in play. #1 - Does prayer do anything in terms of changing reality to meet the prayer of the person asking? #2 - Does prayer offer the praying person any emotional or mental assistance not associated with the supernatural? #3 - Is there any form of prayer that is superior to others? #4 - Do people exaggerate or demonstrate prayer for the sake of image to others?
Why is it so?

#1 - Yes
#2 - Possibly #3 - Yes #4 - No
