In the 70's TV show "Bewitched" the Darrin character was played by Dick York - but was replaced by a guy who vaguely resembled him - Dick Sargent.
True story.
They switched Dicks in the middle of things.

Naw... He was a local boy...
He had a back injury from a movie he was in... He was hooked on opioids which eventually killed him.. He died in his early 60' s...
