What the fuck are Thanksgivings like where you're from? Because I've been witness to about 30 Thanksgiving dinners, and not once have I ever had a random dude with an AR-15 randomly join in the festivities and then kill two people and wound a third. Is this Elm Street? Do you or your significant other happen to have the surname Voorhies? And, yes, I know neither one of those killers used a firearm, but my larger point still stands: comparing an incident where someone killed two people and shot a third to going out of state to visit relatives on Thanksgiving is fucking ghoulish.

Yeah, because there's a thing called "Castle Doctrine" where a person can legally defend himself from an intruder with deadly force, as long as he does it in his own home. Well, that and they can't prove who actually shot and killed his girlfriend Alteria Woods.

Yes, it is ghoulish...to draw attention to the spite and resentment visible in those who are upset that an innocent young man was vindicated....instead of vinidicating the bloodlust of those who willingly believed media and echoed media lies long after they were disproven.
Look, the trial was far from perfect, but at the end of 4 days of deliberation the jury of 12 found Rittenhouse not guilty.

You may have posted it and I missed it, but to what specific lies are you referring?
And a jury verdict doesn’t necessarily mean that justice was served.

I’d have picked a different way to come out as a frothing reich wing bigot, but meh.

For what it might be worth, I read this morning that the young man has been in contact with Tucker Carson, who was making a documentary about the case. The defence apparently had Carson's people thrown out of court several times
It's beginning to seem that old Kyle is a matter of if it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck--------
Also beginning to look as if Kyle is fortunate the US legal system does not allow for double jeopardy.

Um he can still face federal charges. But just like OJ got off on a double murder charge, he was still found liable in a civil suit. Not sure what the odds are of federal charges are, but lawsuits have been filed in civil court in this case.
This brings up a long term issue for me, long before this case, for decades.
I don't like the oversimplification of "not guilty". Often has been the case, jurors get interviewed after the fact and say, "we didn't say the accused was innocent, but only in that the state failed to prove it's case".
I'd bet my life that you could at least find a couple of jurors in this case who would want to slap the shit out of Kyle, but because the state fucked up their presentation, they had no choice. But again, it also did not help that the judge seemed to act more like a defense lawyer than a neutral judge.

Or - could it be - you in your omnipotence - did not see everything as was presented to the jury?
And why aren' t we blaming the NRA and the gun industry?
Boy - SOMEBODY sure is slacking off.....
