Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
“I’m observing a stunning picture of the suicide of the Russian economy.”

- Igor Lipsits, an expert on the Russian economy.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

On inflation:
I’m not economist but there has been 2-3 digits inflation for as long as I can remember.
+ These figures are mostly “estimates”. The yearly increase in the prices of everything here is much higher than that.
Today I wrote a bit about President Erdogan in the thread on “Religious Education” in the “Philosophy” section of the forum.

/Putin’s Russia is different. It’s an ancient communist state. People have some freedom of expression. But if you are a regime opponent, you’d better get out of the country as soon as you can (which is something many people in Russia have already done). Smile

On Nuclear threat:

Russian state is saying the same thing since it first invaded Ukraine. It’s trying to scare free nations by brandishing the threat of nuclear warfare.

So the West provided his support step by step, doing everything possible to avoid the unthinkable.

On ATACMS:

Today Ukrainians have started to hit targets inside Russia. They don’t have permission to use ATACMS in a similar manner yet.

This is due to the fact that they have the right to defend themselves against aggressions that are coming from inside Russia.

So again: The situation is being handled very cleverly.

On Fighter Jets:
France is retiring it’s Mirage-2000 fleet for more modern Rafales aircraft (like before Erdogan we wanted to retire our F-16’s for more modern F-35’s – Which is something all NATO countries are doing right now Smile ) and it’s giving it’s 20 or so jets to Ukraine.

How Ukraine is going to coordinate all this different types of aircraft is problematic. But in order to end the current war of attrition, they need air-superiority so tanks can start rolling on occupied territories backed by artillery and infantry etc.

But is it possible to establish air-superiority on Russia?

I think we will have to wait and see Smile

Quote:Do our officers think that Ukrainians have more drones? russia has more people than Ukraine has drones! On the scale of our huge country, 500 000, 1 000 000 and even 5 000 000 deaths are not many, but every killed and split into atoms in an explosion — this is someone’s husband, father, brother! Our people are being killed in companies within days! Our tanks, TOS, infantry fighting vehicles are burned in batches in meat attacks! And no one gives a fuck!’

Cartels with nukes. What could possibly go wrong?

Right -- the first thing I thought of when I read an article about this was this sounds a lot like Hitler's misapprehensions about America.

Didn't it remind you more of The Zimmermann Telegram?

Anyway, I better pray to St. Jesús Malverde that Mexico doesn't go on the Russian side.

In the meantime:

Quote:"The 'Putin system' is beginning to collapse"

Mathematician and philosopher Immanuel Niven's statements are supported by a close analysis of Russia's economic situation.

According to the mathematician, the "Putin system" is beginning to collapse, exactly what he predicted mathematically already in March: "The announced drastic tax increases in Russia (the highest tax increases in the history of modern Russia) as well as Putin's recently published slogans (according to which "everyone must work as if they were at the front") are dramatic signs that the toxicity of the Russian war economy is reaching a critical level."

"If the cost of replacing material losses (in such a way that the speed of replacement is in balance with the speed of losses) is no longer within the scope of the financing of the state budget, then a system becomes unfinanceable. This unfinanceability is toxic for a system because it causes the system to collapse in the medium term (unless the war is won)."

Niven explains further that Russia is familiar with this type of toxicity: "The USSR collapsed when the costs of the arms race (pushed by US President Ronald Reagan) could no longer be financed from the state budget, which led to the collapse of the state."
