Anyone with integrity.
Anyone who gives a f*** about democracy.
Anyone who cares about crimes against humanity.

On Nuclear Warfare and Non-rational Beliefs:

Between 1200 BC and 800 BC there was this event called “The Bronze Age Collapse” (This is thought to have happened not too long after the Trojan War in Greece or the Reign of Ramses II in Egypt). Mycenaean Greece, Minoans (who had become a province of Mycenaean’s), Hittites have all collapsed. Assyrians, Egyptians and Babylonians were greatly weakened and became just a shadow of what they were before this event.

One had to wait nearly 4 centuries before new great powers started to emerge again like the Greeks, the Medians or Persians or the Neo-Assyrian, Phrygian and Neo-Hittite city states + Urartu Kingdoms etc. (in the South-Eastern parts of Modern Turkey).

So civilization did collapse without nuclear weapons and has flourished (without nuclear weapons) in the past.

But it is still a terrible way to die. Don’t you think so? Smile

European civilization has collapsed twice and been rebuilt twice.
The potential after effects (fallout) of a strategic exchange are the issue with potential Nuclear War rather than the immediate effects of the weapons themselves. I have no doubt politicians would have pushed the button some time ago if that were not the case.
Those that lose their lives in the initial detonation might be considered the fortunate ones.

The Great Bronze Age Collapse.

Is there truly a good way to die?

At least in nuclear fire it's quick (initially).

Quote:First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out

Then they came for the Socialists

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

There's also this:

Donne Wrote:No man is an island,
Entire of itself;
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
As well as if a promontory were:
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were.

Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.

I don't know if that member really has an absence of empathy, or if he's jut trying to edgelord things. He doesn't strike me as the thoughtful type in either event.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Russia had a missile strike on a children's hospital which is a war crime on two levels. First, targeting a hospital is illegal under international law. Second, the tactic of double tapping—waiting to strike again to kill rescuers—is equally heinous.

NATO and the EU need to step in and create a special protection force with one clear goal: to protect civilian targets.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Need to?
Like they're doing with Israel in Gaza?

The gaza comparison would strengthen rather than weaken the interventionist case if we see gaza as a failure of policy.

I don't think we have to keep fucking up for the sake of consistency.
