UKR appears to have brought alot of armor to this one - they intend to pound the living shit out of hardened targets at close range. Not a good day to be a russian huddling in a bunker with no food, ammo, comms, or air support. These poor fucks can't even get a cold weather jacket anymore, according to russia.
What I'm reading indicates that Ukrainian intentions are to drive down the Dnipro river and isolate Kherson, and that yes, they're using plenty of armor to maintain momentum. It reads like classic blitzkrieg, flow tanks past strong-points and use infantry to reduce and capture the isolated and apparently panicked units.
If they can cut off Kherson, the Russian southern front is hors de combat.

On the subject of panicked units.
The story goes that they first sent a wave of conflicting orders to russian over-the-shelf comms, and then apocalyptic sit reps, before jamming their toy radios. No one wanted to be the last sucker holding the line, so entire units fled when they could without firing a shot or seeing a single ukr soldier. Apparently, one grouping physically couldn't because they were bone dry on fuel and there weren't enough civilian vehicles to steal..so they ended up standing and fighting alone (for their lives, not russia, lol) - inflicting massive casualties on ukr forces in their direction.
They still lost the town, encircled. Mopped up by the next elements through. I think we might end up seeing footage of men trying to swim across that river in retreat sometime soon, getting cut down by machine gun fire until there's a bridge of bodies big enough to drive a stolen sedan over. Or, at least, that's what any russian soon-to-be-trapped in kherson is going to have to spend their nights dreaming about, unless they take some initiative real soon.

Footage of the Russian soldiers surrendering together with the tank
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

BMP2, not tank, and might be training footage. Good shit either way. Train how you fight.

I think the most significant Russian contribution to military terminology lately is clarifying the difference between a retreat and a rout. In real time. Repeatedly.

My understanding, could be wrong, was that this was a prearranged surrender, perhaps by the interwebz site? But yeah, BMP, and police tactics rather than infantry. The camera operator is standing the whole time, suggests noncombat.

New call-ups shot this video:
Looks like a recipe for disaster, if this unit -- so to speak -- is any indication. These are not guys you want holding your lines. Few weapons, scanty ammo, and scrounging for food, they're ripe for surrender.

This isn't an army it's a collection of meatshields being used to bolster a madman's delusions.
