Russia and Ukraine

If this is true, it's a major change, and possibly a good one.

On the other hand, it could be a PR move to pretend that US/NATO/Ukraine are the ones open to talks, simply in order to make Russia look bad.

The torture chambers uncovered in liberated areas make Russia look bad.  The shitty tank tactics and logistics makes Russia look bad. The suicide drones fired at Kyiv make Russia look bad.  Having their flagship in the Black Sea fleet go down to Davy Jones' Locker makes Russia look bad.

Right -- Russia doesn't need help in that department.

When you can type out a list of equally evil things the US has done, then you will seem less partisan, and better informed.

No one saying the US hasn't done bad things. That doesn't excuse Russia's bad behavior.

What's the benefit to being less partisan?  I'm partisan AF.

Granted, you kind of have to be to get along on the Internet.

Anyone who isn't partisan as fuck toward one side or the other will be accused of being partisan as fuck for the side that the accuser dislikes. It happens every day.

For some people, being partisan acts as a filter which determines which news reports they believe. Others use it as a way to justify the actions of their own side while condemning similar actions on the other. It's bad for them to kill civilians, but when we do it it's unfortunate but necessary -- that kind of thing.

Only people who pretend they aren't partisan but consistently act in contradiction to this (like you).

No one here has engaged in this whataboutery you ironically enough keep accusing other people of. Dodgy

On civilians Russia has overtly targeted civilians as a tactic. We have it on video and from the mouths of their own troops via hacked radio transmissions.

Russia invaded Ukraine.

I think it's no stretch to say that this may make Russia look bad

I have no doubt that Ukraine is ‘open to talks’. If Russia starts talking about getting the fuck out of Ukraine, I’m sure the Ukrainians will listen.

Yes. And why is he so psychotic anyway?

All world leaders are parading around him since February and now he is coming out with something like “Ok. I really want to talk”. What is it exactly he is willing to talk actually? İs this man completely insane or is it me actually? Smile
