There's an answer to my question about how many are involved.

Russian TV host Andrei Norkin's realisation that his country lacks freedom of speech:
"If I back the decision to withdraw from Kherson, I'm going to jail for questioning Russia's territorial integrity And if I oppose it, I'm going to jail for discrediting the armed forces."

There's an answer to my question about how many are involved. Looks like they don't have weeks, they don't even have tonight. It's a rout.

Yeah, the time constraint is a bitch with that many in the bucket. A hose can only shoot so much water before you get splatter.

Quote:BLAHODATNE, Ukraine, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Ukrainian troops were greeted by joyous residents in the centre of Kherson on Friday after Russia abandoned the only regional capital it had captured since its invasion in February.
Russia said it had withdrawn 30,000 troops across the Dnipro River without losing a single soldier, but Ukrainians painted a picture of a chaotic retreat, with Russian troops ditching their uniforms, abandoning weapons and drowning while trying to flee.
Video footage verified by Reuters showed dozens of Ukrainians cheering and chanting victory slogans in Kherson's central square, where the apparent first Ukrainian troops to arrive snapped selfies in the crowd.
Two men lifted a female soldier on their shoulders and tossed her into the air. Some residents wrapped themselves in Ukrainian flags. One man was weeping with joy.
Ukraine's defence intelligence agency said Kherson was returning to Ukrainian control and ordered any remaining Russian troops to surrender to Ukrainian forces entering the city.

As usual, both sides are reporting quite different things. Regarding the Russian claim that not one soldier was lost in the retreat, the Ukrainians were putting on these sorts of barrages during the evacuation:
I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that. Note also that later in that video, a column of Russian troops are shown crossing east in decent order over the Dneipr.

-and thus, the only regional capital moscow took in it's failed invasion - through the complicity of sympathizing or paid-off city administrators and declared russia forever..is lost.
Gonna be some thirsty folks in crimea.

The website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) reported that Archpriest Mikhail Vasiliev died on the morning of 6 November "in the area of the special military operation in Ukraine while carrying out pastoral duties."
He was the archpriest of the church of St. Barbara the Great Martyr and the Venerable Ilya Muromets, the garrison church of the Strategic Rocket Forces of the Russian Armed Forces in Vlasikha, Moscow Oblast.
"The Lord has allowed each lady to give birth to many children. And if a lady, fulfilling this commandment to ‘be fruitful and multiply’, refused to use artificial pregnancy termination methods, in the widest sense, then obviously she would have more than one child. And therefore, she would not find it so painful and terrifying to part with her child, even for a while. The devil is not so terrible as he is painted. Whom God helps, nobody can harm," the Russian priest said.

- I am reading about several mysterious "accidents" in the Moscow’s ruling elite too.
Even the propagandist media has begun to contradict itself on the issue of the withdrawal from Kherson.
+ 10,000 Russian soldiers are said to have been left on the West side of the Dnipro River being left between the choice to reach back their unit with civilian clothes, to surrender to the Ukrainian Army or to try to go to some place in an attempt to save their lives (The Ukrainian side is assuring everyone that they will treat surrendering Russians in accordance with the Geneva Convention)
+ Russian Wives and mothers are on the Russian-Ukrainian border (the old / real Russian Ukrainian border) asking that wounded soldiers be returned to their families.

I had to double-check this latest insanity on:
https://time.com/4516808/inside-russias-...for-teens/
Is this a 21st century style Hitler-Jugend?
Here is a video from 1945. That’s when Soviet troops where at the gates of Berlin.
In earlier videos of Adolf Hitler’s visits to Hitler-Jugend schools, our history teacher had pointed us to the fact that he would touch the children, he would talk to them but he would never look them in the eye. (Because he is the Führer and he is too great to look anyone in the eyes). I remember someone asking our teacher “Why does he look them in the eyes in this video?” the answer that came was “When you send people of your age group to die on the front the least you can do is to look them in the eyes”.
- So right now. I’m still in shock. I’m wondering if this could be some new sort of propaganda. But how does the Russian train children when they cannot train and arm ordinary / adult soldiers who have been enlisted 2 weeks ago?
The only relative comforting tought about the possibility of him pressing the red button is that I have read 2-3 days ago about an ex-FSB agent who was saying that “Putin might be crazy but that he is not suicidal”.
Still I believe that Russia must be forced to abandon all its nuclear arsenal at the end of this war. (the only thing he hadn’t done yet was to engage child-soldiers. I mean… really)

Yet
In face of the original objectives of the whole campaign, the importance to actually hold an area which you claim to have annexed, and that area you cant hold being a key to holding another area you already have annexed a few years back, in light of all this the future still may look bleak.
One small possibility could also be that his entourage might have started to force Putin to look at things in a more reasonable way.
My second theory on this is that, there were rumors of Putin fighting some sort of severe illness in February (and that even his poop was removed from the airplanes he used so that no one could verify these theories).
My third opinion could be that thing have started to happen within the entirely closed atmosphere of the Kremlin and that we as the public will start to hear about these things perhaps some 10 / 20 years later when some archives will be accessed and made public (like the opening of the ancient archives of the STAZI after the Unification East-Germany with West Germany in October 1990).
