Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
That's one way things could go. I think it will be resolved by ukraine on the battlefield, personally.

Think of it this way. China is sustaining (to a large degree) what russia is doing right now - but what russia is doing right now is failing. If russia peeled back and reengaged in their hybrid war they could sustain that indefinitely without chinese help.

Lithuania closed its border to Belarus after repeated violation of lithuanian airspace. Just this weekend my lithuanian cousin told me that some sort of balloons kept violating lithuaninan airspace at its capital, Vilnius, which is only ca. 30km from the border, seriously interfering with air traffic.

My interpretation is that this is some sort of deliberate provocation, showing how desperate/frustrated Russia/Belarus are becoming due to a lack of results on the actual battlefield.

I can confirm part of this story, we were concerned we wouldn't be able to fly out of Vilnius a couple of weeks ago because the airport had been closed down the morning of our departure day for the reasons stated here.

I interpreted it as a trial balloon (yuk yuk) to see what the response would be to such an incursion.

What? Some people are corrupt in the Ukraine?! Oh no! And I thought they were all flawless. Well, I guess that's the end of Ukrainian empire and Putin should take over to bring civilization to those barbarians.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It ought to be pointed out. That's the kind of thing that can sap morale and have an impact.

LOL, fuckin Bel. From being confident that russia would bring down zelensky, to hoping some scandal can do the work mother russia cannot.

Considering the corruption endemic in the Putin regime he admires so much, his gloating here rings a bit hollow.

Yes, The Spectator is widely considered to be a biased publication with a clear conservative and right-wing stance. The magazine itself states its writers "make no pretence at being impartial" and that its motto is "firm, but unfair".

Their stance on immigration is that it undermines Britain’s national identity. This in a country where you drive your Korean car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then stop on the way home for a kebab and a curry that you eat while sitting on your Swedish sofa while watching American programming on your Japanese TV.
