Quote:CAIRO (AP) — A Russian-flagged tanker carrying liquefied natural gas exploded and erupted in flames before sinking in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya, authorities in the North African country said Wednesday, and Russia blamed the sinking on an attack by Ukrainian sea drones.

According to the Libyan Maritime Authority, there were "sudden explosions, followed by a massive fire" on the Arctic Metagaz on Tuesday, while the LNG carrier was about 240 kilometers (150 miles) off the coast of the Libyan city of Sirte.

The tanker, carrying 61,000 tons of LNG, "completely sank" between Libya and Malta, a statement said. All 30 crew members were rescued and put on another vessel heading to the Libyan city of Benghazi, it said.

Russia's Transport Ministry said that the vessel was hit by Ukrainian sea drones launched from the Libyan coast. Ukrainian officials made no immediate comment on the accusation.

There's a good chance it was an accident but if I was Ukraine I wouldn't want to deny I had that capability and if I was Russia, I wouldn't want to admit it was an accident.

The amount of times russia has chosen to argue their own incompetence over ukrainian success suggests they're working with a different value scale than some of us.

Hungary has stopped Ukrainian gold bar traveling in its territory:

Hungary + Slovakia are perceived as Europe’s back door by both China and Russia. Most of the European far right (sometimes far left) is being funded by Russia. Russia has also had good relations in the Italian ultra-liberal politicians like Silvio Berlusconi (who is seen as the mentor of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni).

In Soviet times they would support this or that group in a bid to overcome Western Capitalism and endure the victory of socialism over that degenerate system. Now they are using the same methods just to destabilize other countries or try to maintain corrupt oligarchies in several parts of the world. As if they wanted to punish the West for winning the cold war.

Ex: The internet blackout in Iran is said to be happening thanks to Russians. I’m hearing that Iranians were not able to completely block the internet on such a nationwide level before.

Not that anything would work in this scenario. 80 million wouldn't fix russias pipeline issues, and even if ukraine wanted to effectively spend that money trying to fix russias pipeline issues for them, the russians would immediately destroy those pipelines on accident while aiming for a kindergarten.

Orban's petty theft pales in comparison to Trump's release of sanctions on Russian oil for a month ($10B to fund the invasion further), to be sure. But then, Trump is ahead of Orban in line for fellating ole Vlad.

What's the over/under on any further tanker takeovers for the shadow fleet in the next month? I mean, the headlines have moved on, after all.
