teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It isn't.  It's a reliable tool for finding dinner, and avoiding becoming that dinner.  To do other things with it requires all sorts of models and systems and rigor in applying them.  That much should be obvious, on account of how much the human brain all by it's onesies got so hilariously wrong.

Things like djinn in the desert handing child fucking warlords the keys to the chocolate factory.

Quote:God already expressed his omnibenevolence when he created you and endowed you with life, health, income, shelter, and so on, and so on, and so on.. But, being the ungrateful moron that you are, you turn your back on him and complain about why people are getting raped. An eternal afterlife is enough (duh) to redress the dramatic injustice in this life, imagine a rapist getting 30 years of inhuman torture for his crime, I bet you will start to pity him despite his wrongdoing (after he got 30 years of relentless suffering) and think this is justice enough.. now imagine him getting 300 years like that, or 3000, ... Seriously, eternity is enough. And anyone arguing otherwise doesn't really understand what eternity means.

Hey don't worry about the rape kid - got a lollipop for you and a torture party for him.  Punch and pie in the sky! This, right here, is why no one can turn their back on a person like you. Disgusting.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Now you're either being dishonest or didn't read the whole thread. I said repeatedly that Hume rejects the design argument, the quote is ONLY intended to be a presentation of this argument, not a defense of it. This is not quote mining, because I am not relying on the quote in my argument, which you didn't addess at all.

You're belittling the afterlife only because you don't believe in it. If you think about it seriously, you would know it's enough to redress all kinds of injustice.

Be aware that I’m giving you the chance to explain yourself. It’s kind of important.

@BrianSoddingBoru4 Of course not. Where did I say that?

Infinte punishment for finite crimes.

Disgusting.

You are now either advocating infinite punishment for finite crimes plus finite punishment, or you are backpedaling.
My bet is on #2
