And to be serious, Kit's response sums it up perfectly. Seeing yourself as unworthy can make you dangerous to yourself, but seeing yourself as more important than most other people can potentially make you a danger to everybody else. Hell, at the moment, I'm watching a video about a young lad who wound up believing he was more important than anyone else. And the video's title can probably clue you in on how he ended up.
Admittedly, if I'm honest, I'd say I'm more intelligent than most other people (having gone through the Weschler test and come out with a score of 176 will do this to you), but I know better than to think this makes me any more important.

We all need to feel important to ourselves. But it is also an objective fact that the Co2 I breath out in a lifetime may not justify my existence as I would have impacted a net sum negative on the world... But selfish me just wants to keep on living... because ..... good weather here! lol

Hey! Where the fuck you been lately? I was going to send a platoon of drop bears to get your location. Good to see you back posting. Or did I miss something?

I'll be honest, I've spent a great deal of mental energy assessing my own importance relative to other people. Somewhat unsurprisingly, I've come to the conclusion that I am a far more important person than most people. But this isn't for no good reason. My superiority is evident, in a number of ways. I won't explain any of those ways because I would get overwhelmed and I just want to get this thread posted.
So what makes you important?
"Important" can only apply in the short term from birth to death. But in the context of the age of the universe and knowing our star and planet's behaviors, we as a species will long be gone even before the sun expands and fries our planet.
Galileo was important, and still is to this day as far as human understanding of physics. But he wasn't around 4 billion years ago, and humans wont be around 5 billion years from now. Galileo was certainly smarter than the majority of the population of his time, but that didn't stop them from putting him under house arrest.
So when you say you are important, you are, to yourself and to those who know you, like you and or love you. But if history has shown humanity countless times, ignorance en mass can stop on your knowledge and oppress it.

I am way more important than Pope Francis but less than a person who cleans Dodger Stadium.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Since the existence of the universe is contingent on my own existence, it is clear than my importance cannot be overstated.

Addendum to my previous response.
It depends who you are.
To my patients, I'm incredibly important. To my family and friends, my importance is also clear.
To 99.99 percent of the human race, I have no more importance than the other nearly 8 billion people they don't know.
To others who only know me indirectly or online, I can't speculate on my importance to them.
To me, personally, not particularly fussed about my existence.

I was the most important person in the universe until I met my wife, then I moved down to second place, after kids I am now down to fourth place. That's just my opinion though, as far as the universe is concerned I may as well not exist.
