You know, I am starting to think I should not be making YouTube videos at all, and that I should devote all the time with which I am making my YouTube videos to blogging and writing papers for peer-reviewed journals. Making a YouTube video takes a lot more effort than writing a blog-post. I mean, I need to film myself, I need to edit the video, I need to upload it (and uploading alone takes hours)... And I have seen no hard evidence it all translates into reaching more people. Publishing something in a peer-reviewed journal takes even more effort than making a YouTube video, and I am also not sure it reaches more people, but at least it gives me some additional credibility. Making a YouTube video does not give me any additional credibility.
Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. All of my kids wanted to be youtubers until they actually tried as a steam project.

But promoting them here as a way to increase the number of views they get is advertising. We have a rule about that. And just to head things off at the pass, promoting a blog would be included in that rule. Boru
