How can you say Christianity is a false religion, but Mormonism isn't? Mormonism is based on Christianity, so if the latter is false, the former is as well.

No he wasn't.

I beg to differ, but, in any case, many modern scholars are of the opinion that Jesus and his earliest followers were fully Jewish. This view is very mainstream and is hardly "moronic".
