Quote:Why do you think we have the laws in place concerning minors? Why do you think these laws have come about? How about statutory rape, etc.?

Well according to the rights hero  Matt Walsh a 16-year-old is fine to get pregnant ..... Hehe

Also, the age of consent is 16 in the majority of US states ..... Dodgy

Also, I just listed a bunch of stuff we let 16-year-olds do. But can have them making other decisions now can we...... Dodgy

It's a gradation, as with a driver's license. For parents who've been divorced, judges usually allow a child to decide which parent they wish to live with around age 10. A learner's permit is usually issued around age 14 with fewer restrictions around age 16. The age of consent is around age 16 through age 18. Even in states with corporeal punishment, teenagers are given a choice between being spanked multiple times with a wooden paddle versus being suspended from school. (From what I've read, most choose to be paddled.) Minors can attend R-rated movies unaccompanied by an adult at age 17; ditto for PG-13. Beginning in middle school, they can also choose to take some classes versus others. Minors can choose to work from a limited, but varied, job market. They can also go to a doctor's office on their own to be vaccinated. If they are transgender, they can choose to "crossdress", wear makeup, grow their hair long or short.

Would you go to a 16 year old for advice on making your life choices? I wouldn't. They haven't lived any life on their own and haven't gained the maturity required to make those decisions. Maybe you think a 16 year old can fully grasp the consequences of removing his genitals or of taking hormones to alter her natural bodily development, but I don't. I think it could it be devastating for life to leave a decision like that in their hands. Let them go into then world and experience it on their own before making a decision that they must deal with for life.

Do you say it' not happening? If that's what you're saying, I'll show my evidence and you show me yours.

I already showed you an article. So what happened? Did you blackout?

Here is another one

Quote:Fact check: False claim about Boston Children's Hospital's transgender care program

Boston Children's Hospital is home to the country's first pediatric and adolescent transgender health program, according to the Associated Press. After sharing an informational YouTube video explaining the program's surgical options for transgender patients, the hospital was inundated with threats of violence and online harassment.

Several social media users began spreading misinformation regarding one of the video's topics in particular.

An Aug. 11 Facebook post shared by Libs of TikTok shows Dr. Frances Grimstad, a gynecologist at the hospital, discussing what the hospital calls a "gender affirming hysterectomy" procedure.

"Boston Children’s Hospital is now offering 'gender affirming hysterectomies' for young girls, and it gets much worse," reads the post's caption. The post then links to an article published by the Post Millennial titled, "Boston Children's Hospital gleefully encourages surgical, pharmaceutical 'gender transition' for teens."

The post accumulated more than 10,000 views in a week on Libs of TikTok, a well-known social media account that the Washington Post says regularly targets members of the LGBTQ+ community and utilizes "incendiary framing designed to generate outrage." Similar viral iterations have been shared on Facebook and Twitter.

But the claim is false.

The hospital's website states that gender affirmation surgeries are only offered for those 18 years and older, not young children. It also explains the various steps that must be taken prior to being eligible for surgery, including living as the desired gender for a year.

USA TODAY reached out to the user who shared the post for comment, and they provided no evidence supporting the reference to "young girls."

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Yes, I would and I don't care that you wouldn't.

Actually, they have and are trusted with various decisions and it's condescending to assume that due to age they lack wisdom.

I think 16-year-old understand themselves as well as anyone else and I don't really care that you don't. Plus no 16-year-old is doing either of those things.

Again I don't care what you think. I think they are more than able to make that choice themselves.

Nope, they have dealt with life plenty and can make the decision themselves.

So you wasted your time giving me your baseless opinions..... Dodgy

OK. We disagree. I wasn't putting it there just for you, but for anyone who might want to read it.

As I said, sexual reassignment surgery is not something that is casually administered.

But even if it were. It should still be their choice. Like many other things, we consider their choice.

I actually learn a lot from my 17 year old granddaughter and her crew of friends.  True they haven't lived as long as I have but they have good input on things today.  At this point they are making life choices of all sorts.  Their knowledge is of the world today about things that can make people uncomfortable aren't as hidden as they were when I was a senior in HS back in the 70s.

People who were LGBTQ+ were quite deeply alone in the closet back then.  Today is better with much more acceptance, even here, deep in the heart of Texas.

A different perspective isn't necessarily an incorrect perspective.  And, they are moving in the world they live in.  Not the one I lived in at their age.

You are quite dismissive of teens.  Have you met one lately?
