[Serious] Ask a firearms enthusiast

RE: Ask a firearms enthusiast
Whites of their eyes stuff right? I hear you...but then, you actually try it..and you're like "howsabout I do this from as far away as possible?" If he cant see me and I can barely see him, that;s just about perfect for me. It's even better if someone walks me in on an over the horizon shot with a tripod mounted gun. Hell, get a good 50 guys shooting at the same black dot rising over a berm. I guess it robs you of the personal satisfaction of knowing it was you that killed that douche...but....sacrifices....

Still, if you've got enough hate in your heart to press steel to another mans body and pull the trigger..let it out. Everything else is just business.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

*shrug* I've no objection to the professional killing of strangers, I just can't imagine doing it myself. I don't think I could kill someone who hadn't done me great personal harm. That's best left to you soldier-types.

When living on an Army base, some of us military wives were discussing the concept of who we would feel safer about following in the event of some sort of attack. There were a few who didn't seem capable of fighting their way from a wet paper bag and others we felt would get things done. I would put Nudger on the list of those I want to be behind.

Just to be clear, I wasn’t making a dig at professional soldiery - if it came off that way, I am truly, TRULY sorry. I was just making the point that it’s a profession I’m not suited for.

I personally want an M7 105mm howitzer for a daily driver. Vintage cache and able to knock the fuck outta you at the same time. I've heard a Chaffee gets better mileage, though. 75mm should still cut through traffic on I-35.

I didn't take it that way at all!  I just have learned over the last few years that Nudger is a guy who can get shit done.  My husband, at that time, didn't make my 'I'd follow him' list.  I earned rank for him with classes and test through the mail...no Internet yet.  He didn't have the ambition and we needed more $$$.  I learned a lot about weapons and such, just didn't keep that info filed away for future use.

I used to pound the jungle behind the pinnipeds, keeping the fraternal socialist brothers in the black pajamas off their butts. They always seemed happy to see/hear me.

I’m fortunate to live in a country that manages to combine a high rate of gun ownership with fairly extensive gun regulation and a low rate of violent crimes.
