Going out on a boat with granddaddy had little to do with fishing and more to do with being with him. Last time we were down there we went out on The Big Time with my uncle captaining. My son talked me into going up to the tuna tower....only my son could have talked me into that with my fear of heights. We caught a few fish but the ocean was like glass that day and fishing was crap. We did travel with some pilot whales for a while and a hammerhead swam beside the boat for quite a distance.
I wish I could remember the chant my uncle was saying trying to raise the fish from the bottom to our bait...even though it didn't work.

Chant? Our guy kept screaming out to the other charters how we were blowing the fish whistle - by which he meant his whole boat was covered in some serious mountain ganja smoke. Look, it might not actually bring the fish, but in my experience, it does make it so you don't care if you catch any. We had one good hook all day and it was literally at the beginning. My bil had a solid line and he fought it till his back went out, the cap and the hand said it was the biggest mackeral they've ever seen, but he lost it right at the boat (The Wife has since been salty that we made him take first rod). We spent the next ten hours in sweltering heat on the gulf stream not catching a single thing...and we had a blast and got good tans.
We went down into the cab and fucked and I gotta tell you, I thank the atlantic for the assist. The wife left that thinking we were totally wrong, and she wants to live on a boat...forever.

The Twin Cities is an advertising center, and we have a state university and multiple private colleges, so there are plenty of artsie types about.
Beyond that, I'm told that Minneapolis has one of the highest number of bicycles per capita, and one of the largest amounts of whiskey drunk per capita.

I was given a large sum of money to move out of state, it was my idea in the first place, I got to choose where I wanted to go, and I chose South Carolina. I'm enjoying it here so far, not much crime in this area.
