2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
I am loving that Vance has pushed MTG off my news feed. I will give him one point for that alone.

I did notice that that stupafuck hasn't been in the news, lately. Empty G and Empty V ought to hook up. They're both the same sort of stupid.

More to the point, who in the Trump campaign staff is so desperate as to dig this deep to fetch up votes?

Someone is giving him some very shitty advice. Swifties won't believe this at all, but Trump thinks this might be useful.

This speaks to the desperation in his camp.

I bet she herself is happy she's not taking incoming. She's probably just as unhappy she's regarded as small-fry unworthy of a broadside. I don't know how these assholes think, so it could be either/or ... or maybe both.

Having served well for your country, having fought bravely, means nothing, without context.

Exactly. So much for loyalty to nation or oath. The USAF saw fit to relieve me honorably of my oath to our Constitution in 1996. I personally do not consider it expired and will never violate it. That Vance does speaks to his views on the solemnity of an oath.

Your service is pretty vapid if your life after your service is given to supporting someone who attacks the Constitution you've sworn to defend. But he is still a veteran, for whatever that's worth.
Yup, no need to lie/ignore what he did for his county. If he, afterwards, shoes his true colors, it's enough to judge him.

Having served your country in war does make you immune to criticism, and it does not make you equal I others who were better persons

I suspect there's a couple of typos in there, but if I get your gist correctly, you're right -- serving your country doesn't make you a saint or a baby-killer, either way, necessarily. It just means that you were willing to put your ass n the line, at one time. The rest of your life is still the rest of your life.

I just question how someone could swear an oath to the Constitution and then later support one who would tear it down -- precisely because his being a veteran and swearing that oath makes it more mysterious.

On the contrary, his people are probably giving him some very good advice (stop the personal attacks, stay focused on policies, etc), but the Stable Genius isn't taking it.

I bet you already know some of the possible answers. Blush

1) He sincerely is wrong about Trumpism, MAGA and all that shit
2) One antisocial personal disorder trait is lack of fear. This can make you a great stuntman, fireman.....or soldier. Outside the army the downsides of this mental state are exposed
3) While he joined the army, he never saw active combat. He wasnt looking for it (afaik). One could argue, the military was "just a job" for him, and the oath didnt mean much more to him than obliging to a "contract" ....as long as its valid. He maybe didnt take this oath as serious as you did.
4) Not everyone is 100% good or evil. Many of us (me included) suffer from cognitive dissonance. He could love his indian wife and be a racist pig.

The Harris campaign has reserved a significant number of ad buys on Fox. That’s fucking brilliant.
