You're gay, your rights are under assault, and you don't want to vote? It's too much work?

Why should anyone else be concerned about defending your rights if you yourself find that such a bother? Pathetic.

In Washington State we just vote and drop it in the mailbox.

My god, the horror! How do you manage?

Only blue states do it.  Red states try to make it as hard as possible to vote.

I know, I'm teasing. But I've stood in line for an hour to vote. My point is that @Foxaèr can't be bothered, why should anyone else care about his rights? That's a question for him, not you; I think you and I already know the answer.

I do not want you to care about my rights in particular. But you can care about the rights of others, because you are a better person than me.

No, this is not how you're trying to paint it here. If you don't care about your own rights, 1) own that fact, and 2) don't whine when the jackboot steps on you. After all, you cannot be bothered to defend your own rights yourself.

I don't vote in order to signal virtue. I also don't waste sympathy on those who won't stand up for themselves.

I bet you gripe about DeSantis all the same.

Rights are like muscles -- unused, they atrophy.

Vote early by mail if you're considered eligible to do so.

That's what I've been doing in Australia for the past few years. I even lie during application about why I can't vote at a polling place on election day. Fuck waiting in long queues.

Goodness, we're not browbeating people for not having the energy or naivety to believe that voting still matters, are we?

The us has been voting blue until it was blue in the face for the last thirty years and we still ended up with red leges, and red presidents, and a red court. Right now, when some blue happens to win the reds immediately get to work to strip those new officials of all power - because We The People clearly voted wrong. I get that some people may actually live in properly functioning communities (or countries) but can we at least have the grace to step back and see that whatever situation that is, it's not representative of the overall situation of voting in the us? Hell, not even the reds are getting what they vote for. Ask em.

I'd die for any of you fuckers, lol, but I don't play this voting charade either - and my not voting in these elections is completely inconsequential. It's not what elects the trumps, it doesn't have anything to do with my (or anyone elses) rights....and since we're talking about rights, doesn't a guy have the right to opt out of the game? Maybe, IDK..maybe, if the blues stopped trying to appeal to the reds and olds by shitting on progressives and the young...I'd vote for them. Maybe, IDK maybe, if they stopped presenting themselves as the punching bag for the democrat facesmasher 3000 I'd vote for them.

...but they won't...so I don't.
