2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
I guess when you are looking for VP you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel after suggesting the hanging of your last VP.

Trumpy understood the assignment.

It’s nice to see some civility in US politics: the Harris campaign is lending a helping hand to the Trump campaign - free of charge.

That last line, "tune in for the same old thing". is key. That is what the Harris campaign needs to drive home.

Trump has just dishonoured every Congressional Medal of Honour recipient. Every single one.

Every Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient as well after he gave one to Rush Limbaugh.

Aside from his blatant disrespect of bona-fide heroes, he's also factually incorrect. A number of MoH recipients survived their valorous action(s) (because it's sometimes awarded for more than one) to receive the honor alive and well from the President.

My favorite American ace fighter pilot, Capt (USN Ret) David McCampbell, for instance:

USN Commendation Wrote:For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty as commander, Air Group Fifteen, during combat against enemy Japanese aerial forces in the First and Second Battles of the Philippine Sea. An inspiring leader, fighting boldly in the face of terrific odds, Commander McCampbell led his fighter planes against a force of eighty Japanese carrier-based aircraft bearing down on our Fleet on June 19, 1944. Striking fiercely in valiant defense of our surface force, he personally destroyed seven hostile planes during this single engagement in which the outnumbering attack force was utterly routed and virtually annihilated. During a major Fleet engagement with the enemy on October 24, Commander McCampbell, assisted by but one plane, intercepted and daringly attacked a formation of sixty hostile land-based craft approaching our forces. Fighting desperately but with superb skill against such overwhelming airpower, he shot down nine Japanese planes and, completely disorganizing the enemy group, forced the remainder to abandon the attack before a single aircraft could reach the Fleet. His great personal valor and indomitable spirit of aggression under extremely perilous combat conditions reflect the highest credit upon Commander McCampbell and the United States Naval Service.

President Roosevelt bestowed the medal on 10 Jan 45. The two engagements cited in his citation saw him shoot down sixteen enemy aircraft by his own. The only American fighter pilot to make "ace-in-a-day" (5+ kills) on two separate occasions, and without a doubt a badass you don't want on your six. Capt McCampbell retired in 1964, and died in Florida in 1996.

So not only does Trump dislike "losers and suckers" who were foolish (in air quotes) enough to give their lives for our democracy, he even dislikes guys who put their asses on the line facing 30:1 odds, kicking major ass, and living to tell about it.

It's almost like Trump doesn't like anything that shows Americans victorious.

Yet, so-called patriotic 'Muricans love him. Their mental gymnastics would be painful if they had the adequate brain cells.

It's kinda surprising I admit. But his voters are cult and there is little than can push cult members away from it's leader.

His own VP nominee, JD Vance, is a former Marine. I must confess that it escapes me how any veteran would see fit to serve this man in any circumstance. I wouldn't piss on Trump if he were on fire after how he's spoke so ill of my fellow vets.

Nor, as he's now sold out his fellow veterans himself, Vance, for that matter.

Yeah, brother!

I've spent hours reflecting on what I would have done had I still been in when Trump was elected President. I don't see how I could have continued to serve under this human shit stain as the Commander in Chief. It would have left bile in my mouth.

Hopefully, our brothers and sisters in arms are starting to get the message. It's a nasty feeling but they need to feel the sting if they embraced this human turd, to wake up and recognize their dishonor.

The hell of it is, I definitely do not consider myself a gung-ho veteran. I don't even mention my veteran status to people outside of casual conversation. I'm not a member of any veteran organization. I don't own an American flag or even a patriotic bumper sticker. But I would become physically ill at the mere thought of solidarity with this steaming pile of buffalo feces.

How does any veteran (or worse) active duty military member do it? It just boggles the mind.
