On the one hand I agree but on other it is somewhat like saying that there should be badge of honour for not dismembering kittens while smiling in genuine joy. In short I don't think that badges should be handed for having common decency.

Yeah, I wasn’t talking about actual, physical badges. The MAGAts like to use the term as a sneer and a pejorative. ‘Badge of honour’ is an expression meaning to embrace the intended insult as a positive.

I did not thought that you were talking about actual, physical badges. It's simply that not supporting trump is just common decency and one shouldn't be praised for it just like one shouldn't be praised for not skinning kittens.

Yeah, recognizing Trump's threat to democracy and basic indecency is not a big ask.

On the one hand, you still don’t seem to understand what I meant. On the other, you still don’t seem to understand what I meant.

I think he gets it fine, @BrianSoddingBoru4. He -- and I -- simply don't agree. Not being or supporting a cunt is no reason for acclaim; that's a low bar indeed, in my opinion.

Quote:Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump by an average of 2 points across seven battleground states as the White House race remains tight, according to polling released Thursday.

A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll found Harris has a 2-point average edge over Trump when it comes to registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. She is ahead by 1 point, a statistical tie, when the poll is restricted to likely voters in these states.

The lead was strongest in Wisconsin, where she edged out Trump by 8 points among registered voters, followed by Nevada and Pennsylvania, where she led by 4 points in each, pollsters said. The two were deadlocked in Arizona with 48 percent each, while Harris led by 2 points in Georgia and North Carolina each, and in Michigan by 3 points.

Exactly. Basic decency isn't something to be rewarded, it is something to be expected. Though in times like this not going with the wave and not voting on fascists could be a badge of honor I guess but it only shows how much standards slipped.

Back when Bush was starting his unnecessary, immoral war we thought that his basic decency was in question. The wars killed a lot of people, after all.

Like Bush-era Republicans, current Democrats support war, censorship, and a border wall (Harris recently reversed her position on this; she supports more wall now).

We are all revved up to hate Trump now. That's good; there's a lot to hate there. But that doesn't forgive the evils of the past, or justify recreating those evils in the Democratic Party. It doesn't mean that the officials who helped with that evil are now respectable.

It's possible for both sides to be bad.

Did I ever said that I deem Democrats to be good? They're better than trump but even dog shit on the sidewalk is better than him.

ETA: From outsider pov dems and repubs are somewhat like Poland two biggest parties - one is bad and other is fascist and plain crazy. And dems do appear to be better than Poland less bad party at least from a distance.
