2024 US Presidential Election

Quote:Trump stuck to his previous position that there would not be another debate before voters go to the polls in the Nov. 5 election. Lol, "too late." 2020 Final debate was on October 22 2024 Proposed debate October 23
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It's not something that matters to me because I couldn't care less about race but Harris is awfully light-skinned for someone of her claimed parentage. Most Indians have very dark skin and native Caribbean people even darker. I would guess that at a minimum, her father was a mix himself with a Caucasian mother or father. Again, this is completely irrelevant to me but I can see how someone who cared might wonder.

I am under-impressed by the notion that mom must have been unfaithful based on the idea that Ms. Harris isn't dark enough.
Of course, we don't want to look at just how different kids from the same parents can look....says the 5'3 one with a 6'7" brother and a 5'10" sister...both of whom are blonde while I am brunette.

I used to work for a company owned by Indians and I encountered many Indians when I worked in the scuba and eco-tourist business. I have also spent plenty of time in the Caribbean. Far from taking a lot of thought, it was impossible not to notice that Harris is substantially lighter than every single Indian or Carib I've ever met.

I only mentioned it because I thought Boru's comment of how stupid Janet Jackson was was a little harsh considering the fact that Harris IS lighter-skinned than one would expect. I personally don't care if she's purple under black make-up.
