I don't care how horrible you think Hell is, the main problem that Christians like you don't seem to understand is that atheists like us just simply don't believe such a place exists. If Hell exists, where is it? Is it far below the surface of the earth like the ancient bible authors believed? For that matter, where exactly is Heaven?
And the further problem is why would I ever want to worship a being that wants to send me to such a terrible place for eternity if I don't worship it?
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

You think it's sad that we don't buy into heaven and hell? Places that have zero evidence for their existence?
Do you want to know what I think is truly sad? The fear, guilt and sheer panic that Catholics show on their death beds. My mum is a nurse in a hospice for people who are terminally ill, usually from cancer. And in the whole 30 years she has been a nurse she has said there are no people more scared of death than Catholics. The emphasis and fear-mongering about hell that is instilled in the minds of all Catholics from such a young age amounts to nothing more than brainwashing and abuse in my eyes and makes your particular brand of bullshit a rather evil one.
So which is really more sad? Living a life full of fear and torment about what will possibly be awaiting you after you die? or, living a life free of such burdens and fear, appreciating fully the time we have here on earth?
Also, can you stop claiming Atheism is a world view or anything other than a lack of belief of god? You would find people a lot more tolerable of you if you didn't have such an incorrect view of the simplicity of Atheism. Like someone else said, if Atheism is a world view or ideal then not playing baseball is a sport. All Atheists share is their lack of belief, they could disagree on literally EVERYTHING else. Not a very coherent world view is it?

Hey Skipper,
You know what I think is sad, someone with an atheistic view of the world that indoctrinates their poor children with these lies. That's sad.
What horrible hope you atheists give your children, to tell them that everything they experience, love, joy and the "wonderful" sufferings of life are all just the result of some chance!
Your view of the world makes me sick and most especially the fact that you have the audacity to try and propagate these depressing lies.
I completely disagree with your mother's view of terminally ill Catholics. I also work in health care my friend!
I know of a godless person that was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and let me tell you....there is NO peace in this man. He has secluded himself from family, not letting anyone see him and spends his time "living" in complete denial. He's not working at spending any special time with his wife, he's depressed beyond words and still his obduracy stops him from seeking God.
You talk about panic, he's consumed with it as he contemplates his loss.
By God's grace, we Catholics have Hope, right up until our last breath and no one can take it away from us.
Trust me Skipper, you'll believe in hell when you're there.
You think I'm lacking charity? Bullshit. The stubbornness of you poor souls warrants clear and unambiguous words.
If someone's about to walk off a cliff and you suddenly pull them away. How do you think they'll react...they'll be pissed! Until they realize what a colossal mistake they were about to make.
Well....this is me attempting to pull you away. THERE IS A HELL and you're heading straight for it. WAKE UP!
Don't like the truth, deal with it.
The evidence for God is over-whelming for anyone that's willing to step down from his ego. Yes, it's your ego that's getting in the way.
You think I'm ego-tripping by making such a statement? Again, bullshit. Have a fu??en look around bud. (note the curse...I'm now speaking like the natives!).
Start by looking in the mirror!!! What the hell do you think you're seeing there man!!! A random collection of molecules that through random-events (oh yes! coupled with natural selection thrown in with a few million years) and voila! you're here.
Wow, nice fairy tale.
Lay down your shield people, put down your weapons, sit down and think! Think! Think! Think!
And when you're done thinking, PRAY FOR HELP. He's waiting...God's been waiting from the day you were conceived.
It takes just the slightness effort on your part and He'll meet you where you are. Don't wait to be a saint, it won't happen.
Think you've sinned too much, that's BS.
Not to do some kind of twisted sin "bragging" but sadly I've probably done it all. If God can be merciful with me, He can be merciful with anyone.
Well that's enough ranting, it's your site after all.
Go ahead and reply to join in the "fun" and try to win (or something pathetic like that). Newsflash: You can't win, unless you change sides. Victory has already been decided.
We Catholics are all praying for your return home.

No. Whats sad is that there's a VERY good chance that the atheists on this site know 100times more about your precious Bible than you do. That's sad.
And despite your complete and total stupidity .... we're still trying to save YOUR children from the disease of christianity.

Actually, the children of atheists that I personally know are blissfully happy and SO MUCH more well-rounded overall. Probably because they're not regularly told that god created them and if they don't do as he says they're going to burn in hell forever.

"DITTO" ... exactly my thoughts about your vile blood-thirsty god and your deceitful religion.

First of all, that's YOUR take on his condition and there is no way for us to verify that fact. Secondly, my grandmother admitted she was TERRIFIED of death and she was the most "godly" fundamental baptist I have EVER known. Fear at the end of one's life means NOTHING about what it real and what is perceived.

Catholicism is god's shit rag to wipe up the barely competent. Hell, even Catholics believe that when they die, regardless of the life they've lived, their loved ones have to pray for their soul so that god will accept them into heaven. What a fucking JOKE! You live your whole life worshiping god and yet you STILL have to BEG to get in the fucking door!

Good one .... Jesus would be proud of you. You should do what Columbus did to the natives and just hold a sword to Skipper's neck and demand that he accept Christ while there's still time. You arrogant bitch!

see above you human piece of refuse! I'll let Skipper destroy you on the rest of this nonsensical bull shit religious rant!
Jesus tastes like STUPID!

Newsflash: you are not going to convert anyone to your ancient relgion. You can piss and moan but we've heard it all before. Christians seem to assume that anyone that doesn't believe in their god just hasn't heard 'the word' but the truth is we've all seen your religion for what it truly is. I am so sure that it's just a bunch of garbage that I'll gladly take my place in hell if it's not. Seriously, save your energy for something truly productive and helpful like helping the poor. Isn't that what your Jesus would want you to do?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
Quote:New documents show how the former Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger -- now Pope Benedict XVI -- and his successor Reinhard Marx failed to properly deal with a suspected pedophile. Despite massive allegations of abuse, the archdiocese allowed the priest to continue working with children.
Quote:H. was transferred to Munich in January 1980 after he had apparently sexually abused a number of boys in his home diocese of Essen. Under Ratzinger's leadership, the Munich archdiocese expressly approved H.'s transfer on January 15, 1980. It was decided that the cleric was to undergo therapy.
Why is Herr Von Popenfuhrer not in the slammer having his own butt raped every night like he deserves...along with the rest of your homosexual priesthood?
Let's hear a spirited defense of these miserable bastards from you.

And this last quote, below, is just priceless. I can't believe he thinks the two situations are equal. By desecrating a Holocaust memorial, you're disrespecting millions of actual innocent lives lost. But by desecrating some communion wafers? You're disrespecting an entity that almost certainly doesn't exist except in your collective delusions! Tragic real-life facts are NOT the same as personal beliefs that are unsupported by evidence, no matter how deeply they are held.
Not sure I agree here, you don't get to make the call about the truth of someone else's beliefs unless you can present a compelling interest that justifies your doing so. I don't think those are really Christ cookies, but then nobodies asking that I believe. If they do so, then bitch. Now it's a separate issue whether some kinds of beliefs have rights. I'd say no, but then I'm not going to go around pissing in realist's wheaties with my anti-realist mojo either. I think there is a place for realizing that some beliefs mean more to some people than life itself. If they didn't we'd have a hellish time getting our young boys and girls to fight our wars.

Actually he does, even if you present a good argument about why in your opinion he ought not be taken seriously when he does.

What are you? A fucking moron? It obvious that a sane person would be in a depressed state if they were told that they was diagnosed with cancer. It's deluded people like you who doesn't give a shit and doesn't face reality because you believe that your magical sky daddy would protect you from all sickness and evil.
