Does your atheism come as a package?

RE: Does your atheism come as a package?
If you say so, it must be so.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

@arewethereyet

Helped me.  I guess it depends on what you're dealing with.

It just appears to me that every topic brought up by our new friend is overthought.

There are things that I have to think through and make lists but not every aspect of life.

Seems exhausting to me.

I don't understand the usefulness of all these labels and lists.

Yes, it helps.
Aside from being intellectually stimulating and entertaining to me, it also aids in communication (with like minded people), and also helps me think through things.

I used to believe in freewill.  Now I don't.  I've become more left wing, more tolerant, less judgemental, and more forgiving as a result.

I didn't know a political ideology could do all that. My Little Pony made me the opposite of all those things.

Political ideology? Not believeing in free will isn't really a political ideology.

Many people consider it central to our justice system. The handy rule for determining whether a given belief has become political (or religious) is whether or not a normative statement about some aspect of life flows from it. Rightly or wrongly. Ala "Free will doesn't exist, so we have far too many prisoners." Or "free will exists, so bad actors must be punished".

Left wing is a political ideology.

Lots of things can be reasonably associated to my atheism, but none of it can be directly connected as having formed from atheism.

Yes. And not believing in freewill has made me more left wing.

That would suggest that the subject of free will is inherently political to you. My not believing in free will doesn't appear to have had the same effect.

It may be. I may be one of many people who don't feel that the issue of free will being resolved one way or another has any bearing on the proper way to organize government in error. Nevertheless, that's how I see it.

Some Christian theological traditions don't believe in free will either, God has predestined his chosen to heaven and the rest to damnation. The Westboro Baptist Church believes this.

It makes you feel more special because God has chosen you from the beginning out of billions throughout history who exist just to be damned to hellfire.
